I started Tretinoin cream 0.05% a few days ago. I have been using a pea size amount all over my face. Everyone told to expect an initial breakout and really dry flaky skin, but I have not experienced either? I put aquaphor on top of the cream.

Is the cream actually working on my skin?

I asked this like 2 weeks ago. I also asked this 2 days after because I felt nothing. But it will kick in and your face WILL turn red and eventually start flaking in some areas.. Keep using it slowly and PLEASE make sure to moisturize and use sunscreen

It took me about 3 or 4 wks to get a bit of a reaction. For me it was a bright red face! Totally my fault I used waaay too much and used not enough moisturiser. It is fab cream. It helped my skin no end. Unfortunately it did nothing for my cystic type spots so I am now on low dose accutane which is working really well. As soon as I finished I am going back to the Retin A though. I loved what it did for my skin overall..

I second what the previous poster says.. keep moisturising and do't go overboard, A bright red peeling face was far more embarrassing than a few spots! :)
