Hi everyone!

So I've been struggling with acne for 10 years now (since I was 12), and my acne always gets worse before my cycle so I believe my acne is hormonal. I've read a lot of good things about Spiro, so I'm wondering how would I know if I'm a good candidate ?

if topicals or oral medications don't stop your acne, if you have successfully been on b.c. in the past, if your acne appears mainly on chin and cheeks or if you have other symptoms of excess of androgens you are a candidate though i know it's difficult to get prescription for it in the UK.

Thank you for the response. I have tried numerous topicals over the years (differin, clindamycin, retin-a, clindoxyl gel) and minocycline (which worked for about 2 years (but never cleared me up totally) and lost its effect, leading to the worst breakout of my entire life. I have never tried BC before, but my acne is predominantly on my cheeks. I'm actually not from the UK - I live in Toronto :). I guess I will speak to my derm about it and see what happens :)

I believe it's worth a try, it completely saved my skin!
