The first time I went to the derm's office (last March) the nurse asked me all the normal first-time patient questions, but then also requested to take a photo of me. I agreed but was, admitedly, embarrased because of a big cyst on my face. I don't know why, but it suddenly dawned on me that I've never heard anyone say this happened to them. Is this standard stuff? What is the picture for? I haven't seen it since.. I guess I'm just curious.
I assume it's to keep track of how your skin responds to whatever treatments you might use. Progress photos basically.
I haven't been to an actual derm before but I think it would be part of standard procedure (I had the same thing happen at an orthodontist when I was a teenager before getting braces)
