Hey guys!
Just wondering if anyone else out there has had similar experiences to mine while using Paulas Choice BHA Products? Ive been using the Clear Extra Strength 2% BHA liquid for over a month and a half- and all I can say is it absolutely doesnt do anything for the closed comedones/blackheads Ive had for a while- and to make matters worse, gives me those red pimples that dont usually pop. I dont have inflamed acne at all- I just use bha to help with the blackheads/clogged pores and prevent any blemishes. I used Neostratas level 2 toner- with 10% aha and 2% bha for 2 years and loved it- I only switched because it contains alcohol and apparently thats awful. Although Im starting to see that maybe alcohol does help the BHA penetrate- because the Paulas choice hasnt been doing anything for my skin at all. Anyone else have this experience? Please share!!

2% is not enough for me. 10% was a little better, but still very slow results.
I use 20% at-home salicylic acid peels, and the results are not AMAZING, but I actually feel like it is doing something now.
yeah I also use it, and I have to admit it does not do a thing to keep blemishes at bay, I have red inflamed pimples and it dident do anything to help them heal or even to reduce redness!
it's okay for evening out the skin tone but I wouldent rely solely on salicylic acid for acne.
I started using PC 2% BHA liquid 5 weeks ago and am still getting new pimples. How long did you all use it? My skin has remained the same over the last 5 weeks of consistent use. I really want it to work. @jean alfred do you use it and get good results? Should I give up and go back to differin?
Consumer acne products are inferior, and this could have a lot to do with regulations, restrictions as well as ingredients included for better shelf life. The 2% SA that Paula's Choice sells is not strong enough to help. I use Lumiplexion SA which comes in three strengths. SA doesn't work overnight. You do have to be a bit patient, but you will notice a difference with the Lumiplexion strengths.
I also recommend black soap for blackheads. I recommend the organic kind you can buy off Amazon. We take the bar, cut about an inch thick portion off, grate it with a cheese grater, put it in a pump bottle and mix 50/50 with water. It's messy and melts if you use it as a bar in the shower.
I recommend visiting Lumiplexion's website. Then email her - [email protected] Tell her what issues you're having with your skin and tell her what you're currently using. I recommend including a picture or two of your skin. She will give you recommendations.
