When you think about acne, there are so many different opinions. Acne must be one of the worst conditions when it comes to understanding the problem. The more I read, the less I understand.
Some say that training is essential to get a good skin. Others here write "trust me, training ruins your skin".
To eat healthy is absolutely necessary, then again, doctors tell you that it doesn't matter at all.
Someone here is putting creams and serums on their faces all the time, others is on a "caveman-regime", where they don't even put water on their faces.
Some have been clean eating D3, others have had terrible breakouts because of that.
Some have been clean eating B5, others have had terrible breakouts because of that.
Dan's regimen works for some, not for others.
LED therapy saved someones life, and basically ruined other's.
Derma rolling have filled in 90% of people's scars and at the same time made the scars of others look worse.
And if you should follow all the "DO NOT"-lists here, you basically can't do anything in life
Even though there are fat, unhealthy, heavy-drinking, unhygienic, stressed smokers with perfect skin.
So what do we really know? This is laughable.
I give up and put my faith in regenerative medicine. Let's hope it can cure our skin in about 5 years time.
Merry Christmas!
Well I do agree that it makes you CRAZY that what works for one does not work for another...makes me CRAZY!
Accutane works for most people here, take a pill then eat and do whatever you want- sadly not for me...made things worse...but I didn't give up, I journaled and kept track of things that worked and didn't....takes patience and dedication but I didn't give up!
I found (after many journal pages) that dairy and gluten were the cause for most of my cystic acne...so those are gone, and that is hard, but cysts are tougher to deal with!
And I have this crazy topical routine, and I've tried many scar treatments too....you just have to find what works for you.
So don't give up, read through and try the things that work for most and go from there. Good luck to you on your quest, it's a long term war- keep your sense of humor! Merry Christmas!
"Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is to try just one more time." - Thomas Edison
Not saying everybody can be as successful as Thomas Edison, but seriously... if you want to put your faith in something, put your faith in your own personal sense of judgment. You can fill your head with all of the online information about acne that you want. That information is full of truth, lies, expertise and inexperience. But, in the end, you need to be the judge of your own body and skin. Resort to "regenerative medicine" if you'd like, but what if that doesn't work out? Will you give up for good?
I hope you and everybody else can keep an open mind. No need to believe everything you read. It can be overwhelming, but the only way to cut through all the crap is to put something you read / watch into action, monitor the results, toss it out if it doesn't work or roll with it if it does. Merry Christmas!
You really just have to do your own thing lol. I'm not boasting about this but ever since I started getting acne 3 years back, I never went to the dermatologist, doctor, etc.. I've just been kind of testing and trialling with different products on my own. Definitely not the best idea since it got progressively worse since the beginning but eh.. I have no insurance anyway and honestly, acne is TERRIBLE, yes.. but I learned to cope with it for the time being. My acne is looking better now.. I have a LOT of scars though that's what I'm worried about more nowadays.. well anyway, good luck to everybody with curing their skin by their own means.
