You can skip this paragraph. Short personal summary: I am now 99% acne free. I'm 23, male. I had persistent mild to moderate acne for a decade. In the later years, I had cystic breakouts. A few years ago, I became determined to cure myself and during that time I've tried dermatologists and their medications, the caveman regime, countless products and regimes, and every dieting experiment I could find. The result was clearing and hope, then followed by much worse acne. I'm sure it is a song and dance you know by heart. It is rather doubtful that any one thing is the cause of acne. Everyone is different, but this is what has helped me and I really hope it helps someone else.
I'll keep it succinct.
Bragg's apple cider vinegar I drink a quart of this per week and the results are great. I tried another brand and my acne came back.
No dairy Give up all milk, cheese, yogurt, ice cream, etc for a week and your skin should be dramatically less oily.
No soy or corn protein I assume this is a GMO issue (they should be avoided in general). It is about a 100% certainty that I will get acne if either of these are in the ingredients.
High alkaline/ low acid diet A quick Google search will explain it better, but, basically, it is more green vegetables and less unhealthy foods (sugar, meats, coffee, junk, snacks, stuff that you know is bad for you)
Acne.org regime For reduced redness wait at least 15 minutes before applying BP and between moisturizers (and multiple applications of smaller doses)
Wash your pillow cases and sheets once per week.
Positive energy I know this sounds ridiculous and absurd, but just smile and be happy. One's life is a manifestation of one's thoughts. Don't focus on acne. Reinforce positive thoughts of being happy and beautiful and sociable, regardless of what reality and the past have shown you. Our experience is malleable. Just smile; it will make you happy. I though it was stupid too, but it has solved multiple problems in my life. Make it an adventure of discovery, expression, and relentless joy!
