How To Reduce The Pain With Acne?

Hey guys, I was curious if any of you have some ways that would help reduce the pain of acne. Right now I have a bump right under my nose and it hurts like a bastard. It's been there for about a week now and seems to just be getting worse. It's not really visible to anyone but me, not much redness yet, it just hurts whenever I move my mouth or nose. Is there anything I can do to reduce the inflammation/swelling and pain?

Thanks. :)

Ibuprofen and sulfur masks help calm down those under the skin bumps for me.

I've used sulfur masks in the past and they don't agree with my skin. I'll try the ibuprofen. I know you shouldn't really on it or use it for long term treatment but I'm sure a few days couldn't hurt. Thanks for the advice. Still open for any ideas.

ibuprofen works, as well as tynenol. Even though Tynenol isn't marketed as anti-inflammatory, it does seem to keep the swelling down, which thus lessens the temptation to pick.

A simple ice bag wrapped in a wash cloth has saved my skin a few times from those nasty, deep sores that you can't really see but you can feel. Those are the worst!

Thanks for the tips everyone, will definitely try using Ibuprofen to stop the pain. Unfortunately I can't do the sulfur mask cause I'm allergic to sulfur :(
