Hello hello:). First of all, I feel I should say I was never diagnosed with any kind of Salicylate allergy; I am just familiar with the idea mostly because my mother has it and got to know 'the hard way' (had a really bad reaction to aspirin). So ever since, I've been just avoiding Salicylic Acid like the most natural thing in the world. However, now after doing some Internet research I'm not so sure anymore. I eat all the stuff mentioned in the articles around the web, and maybe apart from fresh tomatoes I'm all good (I admit I do get weird burning feeling in my mouth after eating those).
Basically, what I'm saying do you think giving a SA a go is a good idea? It's more like an excuse, because there's one more thing which actually got me thinking about this whole situation.
Just yesterday I purchased quite expensive (at least too expensive to just throw it away and I can't return it because of the shop policy) cream gel from Korres. I did my usual scanning for SA, didn't find it at first, only after putting the cream on my face and experiencing a very subtle burning, more like tickling even. It's probably normal reaction to cremes with high % of SA, but in this particular one it's near the end of the ingredients list.
My most important question is, do you think I should try it despite the tickling I've experienced with the first use or maybe I should give it away to somebody... I have to say I'm quite pissed at myself for not 'fishing out' the SA. One should think I'd be quite experienced in the matter lol.

I used to use a salicylic acid cleanser.. i don't know if i have an allergy but my mother tried it and she had several red big papules. She usually breaks out only if she eats chocolate. When she stopped using it her skin went back to normal and i stopped it too just to be on the safe side. However i use avene cleanance k with 1% sal. acid and i don't think i have a problem but then i have many closed comedones and i don't know if it has something to do with it because i use only non comedogenic products. Perhaps you should try in a small area of your face for a few days.
