I have felt like this in the past but not now! I have to spread all of the good things I've found! I have had acne in my scalp, on my face and on my body since high school (now 34). I still have some acne from time to time but I use the Proactive System religiously! Along with an exfoliating face wash 3-4 time per week (St. Ives Apricot Scrub) and then wash with Proactive, use the Proactive Step 2 Toner and Step 3 Repairing Lotion. Doing that regimen twice a day after I shower. Yes, I shower twice a day. Some of you are saying that that's too much but that's what I've had to do since I was 17. My face is fine. But I've been using Proactive for about 4 years now and my face isn't perfect but much, much better. You HAVE to do it twice a day and I do it AFTER I shave which some people will say is also not recommended but I don't shave against the grain and don't use the exfoliant after shaving since that will cause more ingrown hairs. I've really gotten used to never toucing my face. I work out often 4-5 times a week and bike every day. I towel off sweat but shower immediately after working out. All that washing will dry out the skin on your face but the more you do it the better, I promise. My eyes look wrinkled up if I don't use OLAY ProX eye restoration complex (I am a guy but I don't want to look old, I'm mistaken for 25 and younger even) But lately, I haven't had any acne on my scalp or body!! This is mainly what this post is about. This is the biggest deal for me. I used to use a clarifying shampoo by Suave then Head and Shoulders for years (this was the best I'd found in my life until lately) but I would always have a couple of new pustules on my scalp and body every day. I have used sooo many shampoos and body washes. Shampoo ing the past: T-Gel, T-Sal, Selsun Blue products, face washes for shampoo, no shampoo, hand wash, vinegar, only conditioner, not washing my hair (using only water, shampoo once a week), putting baby oil in my hair, VO5, tea tree oil (made scalp acne worse), conditioner, no conditioner, Kennedy SPORT Antibacterial Body and Hair (made scalp acne worse) I mean everything! Body washing regimens have been non-washing except for crevices and the important parts of course, and using Head and Shoulders, dishwashing liquid, handsoap, tea tree oil (dried my skin out which made deep acne on my face and body), Kennedy SPORT, rubbed Neosporin on my body, mixed Neosporin with Baby Oil, I can't remember all the stupid stuff I did! This affected relationships, personal style, jobs, you name it!
NOW I have found the best products the face of the earth has to offer for my personal skin type. I'm a very oily skinned, combination skinned person. It's Theraneem products!! Made with neem oil which isn't mentioned ANYWHERE! I use the Theraneem Naturals Shampoo Scalp Therape. It was INSTANT relief!! The day I used it my scalp felt calm and my hair felt great. For my body I'm using the Theraneem Maximum Strength Bar for my body wash. My skin is looking great!! It's not all dried out and flaky and the little red bumps on my upper arms and upper legs are gone too! I'm still showering twice a day most days of the week but not every day! Just one shower some days of the week at bed time. I still use Proactive on my face but I want to ween myselft off of that even! I think I'll start to wash my face with the bar and still use Step 2 and 3 but maybe I'll have to use medicated soap on my face forever. Please try these and spread the word. It is your duty to spread the word as I have if this works for you, which I pray it does for all of you too! Avoiding pictures, talking to the opposite sex (or the same sex if that's what you prefer), avoiding branching out in life and doing new things, going places, taking your shirt off in public, all of that is behind me. My thanks to Robin at Clover's in Columbia, MO that told me to but these products, I was so mad and depressed but she was there to listen and recommend this great product! I know that acne is a downer but follow these steps. Good luck to all and I hope this helps!!
@charlesfinallyincharge Thank you!!
I tried a foundation that had zinc oxide but I made it oily and fifty times worse! I do have oily skin, but not that bad.
No I mean if you have taken the actual Zinc tablet for acne before. It works wonders for hormonal acne and getting rid of oily skin. I have yet to try it since I'm on doxycycline, but the doxycycline has been useless for me, so I'm considering on taking the Zinc soon.
Just go on Google and search up "Zinc for acne". It should show.
