Hi I'm 27/f and have had acne for a few months, mainly around my mouth/ chin/jawline. I suspect it's hormonal as it coincides with not having my period for months due to an eating disorder (I no longer suffer from this eating disorder).
I've on my second month of dianette and although I've noticed my skin is less oily, I still get new pimples daily (
I had hormones checked in my blood and an ultrasound of my ovaries and everything came back normal.
Will dianette still help clear my acne? Also how long until I see proper results?
Thanks
Probably yes. Since you're starting from not having periods and all, I'd guess the transition to clear skin from Dianette would take a little longer? Two months in in still "normal" for not having clear yet. I took Dianette for acne in highschool (not related to PCOS) and it cleared me up wonderfully. Took about three months I think for it to really be noticeable.
Consider the amount of acne probably "brewing" under the surface before you went on the pill. The Dianette won't be attacking the already established or growing acne, but preventing new things from developing (although this action is probably slow at first). This is my understanding of it, anyway.
