Hi I'm Allie and I'm a sophomore in highschool. I've been suffering from mild acne since 7th grade. I don't have cystic acne, in fact I don't have any acne that's red or swelling. But my face is covered in clear bumps. When I'm directly under sunlight you can see all the bumps my face is covered in. It is the worst on my forehead. I haven't seen a day where my skin has been clear since 8th grade ad it seems to only be getting worse.

My acne is not cystic or severe, but I HATE how bumpy my skin is

I eat very healthy foods and I drink a lot of water and right now I have been taking vitamin c and d3 supplements for a week now.

Days near my period my acne will be even worse

As for skin care products I use neutrogena face wash, 2.5 benzoyl peroxide, and gel moisturizer

PLEASE HELP:(

Welcome to the site Allie

I`ve moved your thread to the General acne discussion forum, where you should receive more responses to your query

Good luck!

Hi Allie,

I had the exact same type of acne. It wasn't the normal red pimples, it was like micro bumps all over the forehead like you mentioned.

Its bascially clogged pores that doesnt progress to infected stage. Bp never worked for me. What worked for me was salicylic acid. I used Clearasil cleanser called Clear n Refine Daily Scrub and Clean & Clear Essentials moisturiser. Both contain salicylic acid. These two completely got rid of those small bumps.

Give them a go for couple of weeks, they're cheap and for me it really worked. Good luck.

PS. With the cleanser what i did was rub it in for couple of minutes and then and further leave it on for about 5 mins for the salicylic acid to do their work before washing it off. Washing it off straight away seemed pretty ineffective.

Hi Allie... sounds like you may need something to help exfoliate your skin and help it "breathe." The sort of spots you describe sound like the sort of spots I had on my body (not my face) - I've been hitting it with alpha hydroxy acid for about a month now and most of the bumps have simply disappeared. And don't worry. I had acne for about 8 years before finally getting it under long-term control.

Imo you've got it good! Best wishes

I also recommend exfoliation. Physical exfoliation using a sugar/honey/lemon juice scrub works for me, but there's also chemical exfoliation like glycolic or salicylic acid. You could also try a calcium bentonite clay mask which can extract impurities from the skin pretty well.
