Hi, I got severe to moderate acne. Im 21 now.
7 years ago: Mild.
6 years ago: Super severe.
4 years ago: Super severe.
3 years ago: Severe.
Now: Severe to moderate.
I got every type of acne; blackheads, whiteheads, (normal) zits, cysts, nodules, sh*t I dont even recognize.
I got like 500 scars on my back and always at least 10 zits/ nodules.
Chest is got like 10 zits + scars and marks.
I stopped doing the regimen 3 weeks ago. When I was on it, I had 2 cyst(or nodules) and a couple of zits a week (on the face), but my skin were looking more and more terrible from the BP. Now that I have stopped, everything has blossed up again.
I was thinking of doing Accutane, but decided to try to wait 1 month, with high amonts of vitamins and omega-3 (Which actually helped alot with my cysts) and zinc in extra dose, to make sure it isnt a health thing.
So Im currently prosponing it.
But, I get a really high level of income in about 3-4 months.. So I was thinking of going to a skin-specialist.
But, by investing 100k into my skin (only for the acne, not for marks and scars), what kind of treatments are available?
Thanks a bunch.
If you consider yourself to have severe acne, then you should definitely visit a specialist. There are professional treatments that can be used on active acne, you can try red light/blue light, but you should get a professional opinion. Your money will best be used after your acne is under control. I also think you should consider accutane if you consider it to be severe and have tried so many other options. I never thought I'd use it either, but after a while you need to weigh your happiness against the risks (much like cancer treatment, elective surgery, etc). I wish you luck!
Since you can afford it, try to find the most qualified doctors in your area that specialize on acne treatments. It doesn't matter what expensive skin treatments you do, if you can't prevent new acne from forming. So first you need to find what works for you in terms of preventing new breakouts.
As for treatments, getting regular facials helps me a lot. Again, you have to find a qualified esthetician for facials, and ask for extractions too. You can also do high frequency every week - it helps with inflammation and skin texture. You can try red/blue light treatments, peels (start with mild ones first), microdermabrasion. It really depends on what your skin responds to. Don't tell your doctors/ estheticians that you have a high budget because then they'll try to sell you products and treatments that you might not need.

Thats what Im willing to spend a lot of money on; stopping new acne from ever forming again. I really dislike it, and its that which cause a low self esteem in me. If I know I will never get new acne, I would be a happy man.
Scars and marks are another category for me.
Thanks for the advcie about not telling the doctor about my budget though.
I wouldn't spend it in Modern Medicine but Functional Medicine. Get tested, find the cause, treat it naturally, for example if Demodex parasites are causing your acne, accutane isn't going to solve anything, you'd need treatment with tea tree oil. Get tested, hormones, thyroid, food intolerances.
If you have money to spend, get a full panel hormone test, thyroid test, insulin test, and vitamin level test. Google all the specifics, even if you tell your doctor "I want a full hormone test" there are many things they won't test for, such as free testosterone. You have to be very specific about what you want.
