So I unfortunately have 2 nasty and very painful under the skin nodules. 1 on each side of my neck. These typically last for a minimum of 6 weeks and ALWAYS scar. I want to get a cortisone shot in each of them but my idiot dermatologist office refuses to let people come in for them even though they know I have issues with scarring. They tell me they can see me in 8 weeks when the nodules will have done all its damage.

My nodules don't respond to any typical acne topicals but I was wondering if Hydrocortisone would work? I obviously wouldn't apply it to my whole face and would only do it for 2 or 3 days in small amounts. I keep reading the horror stories but these scars are going to be horror stories if I don't do something.

Some people have used hydrocortisone on nodules and cysts with success, but the results vary because sometimes the hydrocortisone does not penetrate deep in the skin where the nodule may be. Still if you use it sparingly and for not more than a week, you should have no side effects. Sometimes sulfur works well on nodules and I personally have used Sudocrem on nodules and cysts with success, so these are other options for you.
