how many times do u wash ur face?

(this is ideally not meant for caveman regimen followersgrinwink.gif but its okay for u to answer!)

i wash my face with a cleanser(my mild SA wash) atleast twice a day.

before i go to bed and after i wake up in the morning.

(i live in india, its hot and HUMID here - PLUS its summer now.temperature reaches as high as 40-45degrees here).

plus i splash water a few more times.simple room temperature water.

i also find it needed because i apply my spot treatment(clindamycin +nicotinamide) twice daily.so,washing either before application or/and after 2-3-4 hours seems important.

after 4-5 hours my face(some parts like nose, around my nose, chin, etc) gets oily anyway.

please note that even after washing my face is never too dry.its just as it should be.

its supple and the texture is smooth(in the non-acne areas),it also has the natural shine or glow(or whatever they call it!).

in these summer months,i also use the wash on the evening once to stay fresh.

although, most people ask us not to wash our face more than twice,i feel its not a great idea for me.huh?

what do u think?

I wash twice daily.....10-12 hours apart (morning / night). Every two days the morning wash is done with sodium sulfacetamide/sulfur cleanser. Gentle cleanser used at all other times (Dickinson Witch Hazel Foaming Face Wash).

Twice daily. My skin used to get really oily, but that was when I washed frequently throughout the day. Twice a day keeps my skin oils pretty stable.

I'm still not happy with my skin though so I'm still doing something wrong!

Usually mid-day I just blot the oil with a tissue. The days I use the more drying sodium / sulfur cleanser I seem to be more oily and faster too. I have come to believe less washing and gentler products are the way to go. I will admit I do look forward to the second wash of the day though. Also I live in Michigan USA and the climate here is only hot from Jun-Sep. Sometimes it is extremely cold here which poses its own set of challenges => too drying.

My face acne is probably considered mild, with medium oiliness. My back is worse. I struggle with two conditions there....fungal folliculitis and Grover's disorder. Difficult to fight two different issues in the same area.

see my living in a hot -humid place does play some game.

but what is also an issue for me is that i apply my med twice in the mid-day.once after i shower at around noon and then later in the evening at about 8-9pm - so,i wash my face with some room temperature water before application.

i dont know what else to do.

also,i get up late so i use the wash in the morning late(around 10.30 or so) and again around 12.30 or so i shower so the water gets on my face.

i dont have crazy oily skin - my nose and some area around my nose do get a lil' oily after 3/4/5 hrs but thats about it.

also,i never feel too dry even after using my SA foaming face wash.

any idea??

also, after i exercise or dance or sweat for whatever reason(which usually coincides with the time when i apply my med - since am always at home for a long time now,i plan my things accordingly) i wash my face.its important for me.i feel very dirty and sweaty otherwise.

I am not trying to be confrontational but unfortunately you are not explaining yourself very clearly.

Is your current routine of washing your face so many times a day not working for you? If it is not causing you issues than why not just continue that way. Everyone that has responded indicates they wash twice per day, which is pretty typical. You seem to have numerous reasons / excuses to wash much more than that and do not seem willing to change. What other kind of advice do you seek......someone else that also washes a lot to agree with you?

Once daily at night time only cause your skin is usually clean when you wake up in the morning.

i am expecting opinions which are varied and with reasons.

i definitely do not want anyone to agree with me or anything similar.

i am plain stating my reasons and then seeking reactions.a counter-discussion on them.

as far as my knowledge goes,i am only and only statinh what and why i do things.

seeking reactions on why i shouldn't.

whether its a trouble for me or not is my secondary concern.

i am trying to figure out how and why things are done (in most cases). - for this happens to be a widespread topic anyway.

people have varied routines and reasons as to why they follow them

its strange u feel that way.
