Where Has Everyone Gone?

I've been coming to acne.org for years off and on. 'Off' being when my acne improves somehow or another, 'on' when it comes back after a few months. This time however Ive noticed that the activity on the board has become very very slow. About 2 years ago, you would post a topic and the next day, it would be lost on the 3rd, 4th page of the forum (i.e. high forum activity). Have people managed to find their cures for good and moved on?

Does anyone still check this forum, with proven ways from their experience about how they did it, to help out those who are still struggling and trying out wide assortment of regimens and tricks to try to cure/prevent it, ? Or are we just beating about the bush?

Im 26, suffering since I was 13. Very oily skin. Used accutane once last year. Got remission for just one year but it was the best year of my life. Too bad it made me depressed to the extent that I had to stop the dosage after just 3 months.

Now I'm back, trying diet changes, weird concoctions and what not. One persons swears by one thing, and another would totally rebuke it. I just read an old topic saying vegetables are the culprit and eat fatty meat instead. I don't now what to believe anymore.

Is anyone still around?

I noticed that too. It used to seem like there was a lot more activity than there is now. I guess there are just less people now for whatever reason. Also there has been some confusion with the new layout where they got rid of entire forums and people didn't know where to post things or where to find things anymore. And I noticed there are way more guests online than members. Right now there are 20 members online and 700 guests. If some of those "lurkers" started posting, they might be able to help themselves or other people.

Maybe the regimen works for everyone. They get clear from it and move on I guess.

Hey. I have used the product for about half a year and it cleared me up : ) but i started beeing stressed about all the oil my face produced i tried using more moisterizer nothing helped... i am gonna try the Oil Cleansing Method cause then u don't remove the naturall oils and you kind of balance your face oil production. But so yeh i think BP use will never stop, when i read the forum i never find annyone who has stopped useing BP and still keeping their face clear. I don't wnat to use these products the rest of my life.... But its true more people read this site then writing something

It isn't uncommon for users to leave the community once they have found something that works to control their acne. There is nothing wrong with that, as it is just a part of life. But no worries, there is still a strong community here to help with anyone suffering with acne. You may want to check the Diet & holistic health boards for information on how diet may or may not effect acne. Good luck and continue to come back to the community!! :)

Yes I'm mostly reading the Diet & Holistics section now. Here's what I'm hoping to do.

Make my body so healthy from the inside that it will be able to regulate hormones, heal quickly, regulate oil production to some extent, be less inflammatory etc. all by itself. I have also been falling sick a lot lately and a doctor in the family said to me that it's because my immune system is weak. A viral throat infection that hasnt affected anyone else in my family affected me. And this has happened often. So I should eat healthy to build immunity first. This got me thinking.

Btw, I don't use BP. I used the regimen when I first found acne.org but it was too harsh for my face so I quit. I'm also thinking of using oil cleaning/steaming more.

I once successfully used olive oil and ACV on alternate nights to fade out red marks left from acne. It helps with continued use.

People stop coming on when they are content with their skin or too busy I guess. I have nothing better to do at work though so I can browse lol. Keep up with the diet changes, reducing stress and not putting anything on your skin that may irritate it. I don't know if you drink coffee but switching from coffee to green and oolong tea really reduced my breakouts on top of a fairly strict diet.
