i've been trying all the things in my signature and thought i was making huge improvement. i started taking zinc at 30mg 3 months ago and i saw a huge improvement as soon as i did but my acne did not go away. whenever i went up to 60mg a day which is recomended to get rid of acne i got stomach cramps, felt generally dizzy and sick, and had no appetite which is scary. i have added all the things in my signature and have seen improvement. Here's where it gets interesting. three days ago i ran out of zinc and ordered a new brand on amazon which has not come in yet. so for the past 3 days i only have taken 15 mg a day. my acne is showing signs of going back to how it was 6 months ago! six months ago was when i went off minocycline and differin and had a terrible, monstrous breakout and the worst acne in my short life. it was so bad i am still dealing with the awful hyper pigmentation from it. in 3 days the acne has returned in magnificent magnitude!!! what im about to say is even more interesting! last week i thought my acne was cured after i started putting a probiotic on my face. the acne had completely gone way for 2 days. because i have been so desperate i have been doing many things and that same day i also took 60 mg of zinc for 2 days in a row before i couldn't deal with the pain anymore. 2 days. it just so happens that for those two days my acne was perfect. i already knew that zinc can cure acne from this study: http://archderm.jama...rticleid=536705

but i'm not going to take 120mg of zinc a day. however, the fact that this terrible breakout has begun despite the evening primrose oil, oil pulling, topical evening primrose oil, probiotic topical, and vitamin d i am on shows me just how powerful zinc is!!! i will pursue zinc as a cure for my acne by taking 60 mg zinc chelate with enough iron to hopefully offset the anemia that can be induced from zinc overdose. i would rather be clear and risk it after dealing with the horror of acne for so long. i am using zinc chelate and only now i realize how efficacious it has been. to put in perspective, 30 mg daily of it reduced my acne by 70% by itself. peace

Right. I can't help but notice that you've been posting this everywhere on this board.

Two things.

1) I've been using zinc for a few months now. It's reduced my breakouts and severity, but it's not cleared me entirely. Other things have done that. Yes, people with acne are often lacking in sufficient zinc levels, but...

2) Acne is a problem with many causes or things which play it up. One thing will *never* work for every single person with acne, so saying 'duh' to people asking for help like zinc is the ultimate cure is pretty flippant and rude. Zinc won't clear everybody just because it's mostly cleared you. Everybody is unique. Even if you're just trying to share your success with others I'd still reconsider how you're going about it if I was you.

Acne doesn't appear within 3 days! Takes 2 weeks from what I've read.

Zinc picolinate is much easier absorbed by the body. I take 50 mg zinc picolinate daily.

Right. I can't help but notice that you've not been taking enough zinc.

Two things.

1.) take zinc

2.) zinc

This is nowhere near conclusive.

I'd like to present you with this club. You're going to need it for your level of trolling.

Kudos though, you're more amusing than most. And you don't 'typ lyk dis'.

I have been taking 50mg zinc every day for the past year or so, and I recently quit because I believe it was beginning to induce anemia. I don't know exactly what my iron levels were, because I couldn't pay the $700 blood test, but I received my liver test results and it didn't look so good.

There is no cure for acne, but I think pantotheinc acid is the closest thing we have to a cure.
