Dan's regimen is great. It's incredible for getting the surface of your skin clear and looking smoother.

Make sure to do your research before embarking on this journey.

All of this will ride on how well you begin to understand your body, its weaknesses, the effects of carbohydrates on your system, food sensitivities, how much processed food you eat, drinking, etc.

Your entire lifestyle will affect acne. Cut out all fried foods, sugar, and dairy (I've found I can tolerate a little feta cheese, which gets rid of any cheese cravings I have), and wheat (bread, pasta, etc.). Caffeine (coffee) is not good for acne either. Make sure you get plenty of good saturated fat and protein, as well as plant fiber.

To be concise, go for a low glycemic, anti-inflammatory paleo diet.

This site will give you plenty of information on the nutritional content of what you are eating.

Also, do your research on the body's nervous system, endocrine system, digestive system, circulatory system and lymphatic system - what you eat greatly effects all of these things. These systems are all responsible for taking in nutrients and managing waste. Acne is a tell-tale sign that something is going wrong within.

Don't believe in the low-fat, low-cholesterol hype. Our bodies need good fat to survive, as well as good cholesterol to repair blood vessels. I've been eating lots of low-fat low-cholesterol foods my whole life, and my acne did not disappear until I started eating good fat, good cholesterol, and cut out processed food, sugars, grains, and most dairy (I can handle cheese from time to time but everyone is different).

Good luck on your journey!
