Hi guys I'm new here and after suffering from acne since the age of 14 I'm 22 now its finally taken its toll and I am officially depressed more so cause I am getting married soon and I just hate looking at myself in the mirror!! Here's a little about my background I have cystic acne with whiteheads and blackheads I have probably tried every antibiotic there is! It was then last week I was given accutane at first I was excited ect but after doing endless research on the drug it actually made me so scared I just did not wanna touch so now its lying in my room untouched I'm just so scared to use it more so cause as I said I'm getting married soon and therefore I can get pregnant any time after march so I just can't risk it i need help guy I really don't know what else is out there for me I just want to die right now!! I can't even sleep because of this
So please if any of you guys have any suggestions of what's out there for me just to inform you I have active acne alongside post acne dark marks I am south Asian so hyperpingmentation is something I suffer with I am using retin a and have been prescribed tetracycline 300mg and hoping to start them this thurs instead of the accutane any advice will be much appreciated please
Why, having 'tried every antibiotic there is' as you quote, would you suddenly decide that starting a course of tetracycline was a good idea? By the nature of your post, you sound fairly distressed, I'm not sure this approach would bring you any benefit, just wasted time and money.. and yet more distress
Hi peck tetracycline was the first antibiotic I had ever tried in 2009 back then my acne was only concentrated around my Chin area as years went by it has now spread to my jaw line and cheeks I stopping taking antibiotics back in jan 2012 and thought cause Ive had a break maybe my system would allow them to work again cause I think I have become immune to them
Hi rani luckily I don't have back acne my acne is on my chin jawline and cheeks 
( is there anything you would suggest for active acne as there is little point dealing with my marks when I still have active acne
yeah you probably did become immune to it, but I'm fairly sure you'll still be immune to it now as well I had exactly the same problem with antibiotics, once you've used them and they stop working, they'll never work for you again. Your best bet is probably accutane, and since you've already got it your doctor must have given you the all clear to go on it. I wouldn't get too distressed by all the internet horror stories you read about it, you type any semi-strong drug into google and you'll find pages and pages of horror stories. The chances of you developing such a problem are very slim. If your acne's bad enough and causing you loads of misery, and you've tried all the other medicated options, then my advice would be to give it a go 
That said, I can only base my opinion on what I've read, you are in of course a much better position to decide what's best for you

Also, i hate my acne too, sadly it's something i've and everyone else who has it has to deal with it. I'm contradicting myself saying that as i moan all the time over mine but it really isn't going to make it go quicker.
I've found Benezyol Peroxide has helped me, so if you haven't tried that maybe give that ago? Everyone is different though, different stuff works for different people it's just finding the right one for you, i know really frustrasting we just want it gone! It broke me out big time at the start but now it's starting to heal and i'm hoping it stays that way.
