Thankyou, I'm going to go pick up everything you mentioned tommorow.

Can I buy the materials at GNC?

Anyways, thankyou for the help. This should hold me off until I go back on Accutane =)

Yeah GNC, walgreenz, cvs , walmart. And your doing Accutane! Jeez.

Thanks for posting this going to give it a try smile.png

Is it absolutely essential that i take a multivitamin supplement? I've taken a probiotic and a vitamin B complex each day as well as a fiber based remedy which it basically entirely fiber but not in pill form. ( You dissolve it in water, the fiber is called Husk Lindroos oralt pulver, it's Swedish)

How long will it take for there to be a noticeable difference?

Please tell me if i'm doing anything wrong and why.

Thank alot smile.png

Yes, and 1 week.

What do you mean by probiotic? Jogurth?

A probiotic. Its a supplement thats the opposite of an antibiotic.

You said it must be gluten or milk free im actually finding it very difficult to find here in Sweden. The product range here is so shit and ridiculously expensive. I would be very grateful if you could just post the url of the three products your using so i can import them. This way i cant go wrong. Money isn't the problem haha. Once again thanks for posting this.

I've only started this regimen like 2 days ago, and i've been taking 1 probiotic and 1 multivitamin for men, and 2 husks in the morning. Afternoon i take 2 more husks, and another probiotic. and in the evening i do the same thing. basically i take 3 probiotics a day, each capsule is 3 billion live organisms. and i drink a butt load of water.. And i already noticed most of the small pimples all over my forehead are either drying up, or are gone.

So basically it's been 2 days, and i'm liking the results already. Can't wait til after a month, i'll keep posting every week.

Just prepare to take a few trips to the bathroom

Hey i just wanted to ask why it's so important for the probiotic to be milk, gluten and soy free? It's actually fairly difficult to find a probiotic in my country, i would greatly appreciate it if you could post the name of the probiotic you're using, possibly with a URL ( and the multivitamin) i'll just smuggle it right over the boarder

. Thanks a lot.

Just a quick update: initially it all worked fine, Taking the Phillips colon and Walgreen brand psyllium husk as well as a multi. But now I'm breaking out pretty badly around my upper lip and chin area. Dang :/

Stop taking the probiotic and take the others. Transition from 6 fiber pills a day down to 3. Happened a little to me a about a month after.

I've been doing something similar. Coincidentally I bought some Psyllium Husk (whole husk) and have been taking that for almost two weeks. I haven't really noticed any changes but I also haven't noticed much change in my digestion either. I just very recently started grinding up the whole husks and that seems to be working better. I'm going to go buy some probiotic and a multivitamin tomorrow though, because of this thread -- so thanks!

Something that is important to point out though is that you shouldn't take any medications with Psyllium Husk, only because it absorbs so much fluid that what ever you take with it (like a multivitamin) will probably just be absorbed and its effectiveness will be diminished. That's important to note for people who are taking medication that they have to have on a daily basis.

Hopefully the probiotic and multivitamin will help. I do remember reading somewhere, that Psyllium husk can take up to 4 weeks to start 'working'. P. Husk isn't a quick fix like a laxative or anything like that, but doesn't result in bowel dependency either... so that's good.

I'm taking close to a tablespoon full twice a day ... how big are the capsules you are taking?

Psyllium husk is great. And to anyone curious about what pills to take or what not, you can just buy a tub of this stuff already finely ground. Metamucil makes it and i just get mine from wal mart. You can get it unflavored and add it to whatever beverage you like. Crystal light makes an all natural drink mix which is super easy to make and really good. I aways take a rounded tablespoon with every meal. (so like three times a day which is what they recommend)

Anyway great post, and hope people continue to find success with this

This regimen is guaranteed to work. The probiotics kill off bad bacteria in your stomach and re-populate the good bacteria. If you have ever taken courses of antibiotics, prescription drugs etc. you need probiotics. 2 billion with as many strains as possible is a great starting point and if you have a lot of bad bacteria the probiotic might make you feel a bit sick at first. I think once you feel okay you should keep upping the probiotic for the first month to get as much good bacteria in the gut as possible. You can't take too much probiotics.

The fiber helps flush your system from all of the bad bacteria that are dying off, as well as flush out toxins from the food you are eating. Without fiber this regimen won't work - it is the most important thing for people with acne to be regular. Seems weird but your skin is the second largest organ of elimination, so if the toxins aren't leaving your body they will come out through your skin.

With bad digestion you cannot be absorbing all of the nutrients your body needs no matter how healthy you are eating so the multivitamin helps the body with that. Any deficiencies created from the bad digestion would also be addressed by taking a multi vitamin.

So glad this regimen worked for you! When I saw this post I was so happy because this is what I have been doing for the past month and it really works. I have been on Accutane 5 times and this regimen keeps me clear. I have also changed my diet by cutting out sugar, many carbs and adding green smoothies but I think this regimen even outweighs the dietary changes. If I get lazy and stop taking the fiber I start to break out again for sure. My digestion is still not fully healed but I'm on the right path! This also not only helps acne, but it will help energy levels, your state of mind and many other health concerns. Many many diseases/disorders start in the gut, so if you have a healthy gut you will be a healthy person!

An update on my progress using the psyllium husks.

Ive been taking them about 2 weeks, first week I was just constipated :( but then I was given the advice to up my water in-take....

So I take 2 capsules after every meal (3x) and I carry a 750ml bottle of water which I refill twice a day (I drink more fluids on top of this usually as well). Things are now 'moving' lol. It did take at least a few days of consistently drinking a lot more for this to happen though - and I felt terribly bloated until the water kicked in and helped things along.

Ive had some big spots come out along my cheeks (this isnt unusual, but I havent broken out there in a while) so at present I cant say whether this has helped my acne.

I dont take probiotic capsules because I eat natural bio yogurt nearly everyday. I take zinc, chromium and vit a supplements (sometimes I also take Vit D or Vit B complex) but I dont take a multivitamin because I already take a lot of supplements. I also eat very healthy food, always have done... the only thing i sneak in to my diet is sugar, and I know this worsens my acne.

I meant to add in my earlier post that adding bentonite clay to this regimen would be beneficial too. Bentonite absorbs toxins inside you body, kind of like psyllium can absorb "bad stuff". Bentonite is negatively charged and attracts positively charged waste/bad stuff.

If you aren't "regular" yet though I'd say probably you should wait to use it. That's what I'm waiting for although I already purchased some a while back from mountainroseherbs.

Spridora, out of interest what exactly happened while you were on this regimen? I've been following it religiously for 2 weeks now and, while my skin is now much less oily, my breakouts seem to be getting worse. Over the past few days, I've broken out in whole new areas and I can feel a cyst coming up on my forehead. This may be irrelevant, but I've also noticed that over the last few days I've been getting really bad headaches, I feel as if I've got no energy, as well as just generally not feeling well.

Did you see any actual clearing before Week 4? Thanks!

I would defiantly consider stepping back on the probiotic a bit if its causing that many issues. Try every other day then just stopping it completely. For me it was a mild breakout but could have been from other things. As far as the fiber pills are once you hit the one month mark you can start going down to just 3 pills a day. Thats what I am doing now and its working fine. Sometimes I forget to take them and I don't ever break out at all.

Hey man started you're regimen on Monday. It's easy so no complaints yet but i realized that you said that the probiotic should be a capsule. Mines a tablet. Will it still work?

Yes it should work great either way let me know how it goes!

Ok well here to let you know how it's been goin since its been a while now. Honestly, can't say it has helped or hurt. I haven't been 100% consistent with it but pretty decent nonetheless. I'm going to continue because it's easy and still healthy for me overall. But so far, not impressed.

I'm giving this a go.

I bought equate husk fiber pills. I also bought GNC 25billion probiotic. (also has 2000iu D3)

I'm really hoping this works. I was on antibiotics for 9 months, have a poor diet, and am constipated often.

I drink 6 bottles of water a day but the fiber hasnt gotten shit moving yet haha...

Just a quick update with what's happening with me. I've stuck to this regimen religiously for 3 and a half weeks now and, unfortunately, I've seen absolutely no improvement. If anything, my skin has actually got slightly worse which I reckon is due to the probiotics.

On the plus side, the fact that my skin has got worse has proven something to me: it's time for a candida cleanse. I'm signed up to the programme available on The Love Vitamin (a great resource) as the fact this hasn't helped, combined with my long term antibiotic use and poor digestion, implies I do have a candida issue. Basically, all the symptoms I have and my life history line up with a candida problem!

For three weeks, I'm going on the candida diet, whilst continuing to take the psyllium husk and probiotics, with a anti-fungal called Now Foods: Candida Clear. I'm also going to "enjoy" a liver flush drink once a day. If this works, and if my suspicions are correct, I hope to have success like Spridora in 3 weeks time! I'll get round to getting a log up at some point over the next few days. I'm going to kick this thing off tomorrow and I absolutely cannot wait! (I would love to start sooner, but I have an important evening reception tonight which I have to go to, so even if I'd started earlier this week, tonight alone would have threw everything off).

My acne is very bad today. It's day 3. Hoping it isn't from the probiotics. It's probably just a normal shitty breakout that I usually get.

I also haven't pooped right in days now..... why is the fiber making me constipated? I drink about 6-8 16.9oz bottles of water per day..

My face has been healing lately because I'm on full BP regimen, but I've also been on the probiotics for about 11 days. I just had to travel for 3 days, and accidentally didn't bring BP. I still have probiotics though, so I'll update if I have a crappy break out in a week, or if I don't which might indicate the probiotics are working.

Thanks for posting this, I'm probably going to give it a shot.

I'm from Europe so I won't be able to buy the exact stuff you suggested, but I guess I could get good alternatives.

About the psyllium fiber pills: I'm reading that it has a laxative function and that it's meant for constipation or haemorrhoids. Are you sure I can use this just for acne? And do you have to go the toilet so much that it's getting annoying?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Spriorda,

I was wondering if you could give us the timetable of changes you went through? Did you have any initial breakout period at all? Did you skin just clear up gradually over the first month? Did it stay like that afterwards?

Thanks, I'm trying to see if I'm on the right track! (I'm 3 and a bit weeks in)

Tom.

Psyllium husk regulates bowel movements. So it will help move things if they are too slow, and will help slow things if they are too fast. It isn't strictly a laxative. Main things to look out for is allergies and taking too much which would slow things down excessively, most likely. Don't take medicine at the same time either, as it will absorb a lot of the medication.
