Okay folks - after having been away from this thread since November, I'm ready to report my progress with BFG's regimen. My update is this....as much as I would have loved for this regimen to work, I'm unfraid that it hasn't kept me clear, nor has it stopped/prevented acne from occurring. I have followed the regimen to the T. Never strayed, or missed a day, or included other products into the regimen. I started the regimen in late September, and stopped the second week of January. Sadly, I discontinued using the regimen because of what my husband had said to me. He knew that I was on this "new regimen", and he knows how I can get about wanting to try new things and sticking to them if they work. However, this is what he said. "I don't think it's working for you. Your face has never looked worse."
In fact, people, I believe what my husband said to me was true. As harsh as it sounded, and as much as I wanted to keep going, I could not continue with the regimen because of the condition my skin was in. Plain and simple, the regimen stopped working for me. Cystic acne started to come back after month 2, especially along my jawline. With no incorporation of an exfoliant or moisturizer, my skin was thirsting. And I drink lots of water daily, so don't think that I was under-hydrated. I also stuck to the fiber pills (which I still take to this day because I like the fiber). Perhaps this regimen might work for males. But as a female, and around the time of the month when hormone levels are peaked, my acne became worse.
It's been less than a month since I've quite this reg, and luckily I've found something else that turned my face and skin condition around full circle - helped to heal existing acne and lighten the acne scars, and has made my skin smooth, glowing, flawless for makeup application, and my results are fantastic. what's the secret? Alpha Hydrox enhanced lotion with 10% glycolic acid. I read it in a previous thread on this forum that someone used AHA's for moisturizer, so I tried it. I did a lot of research and reading on the Alpha Hydrox products. I fully changed my regimen and now use only the Alpha Hydrox foaming face wash, enhanced lotion, and sheer silk moisturizer. My face is so smooth, supple, wrinkle-free because of the glycolic acid, most of my acne is gone in less than a month, and no flakes from dry skin. My face has never looked better. I attribute it to the AHA enhanced cream.
thank you to whomever suggested using AHA's. When I started to use the Enhanced Cream as my moisturizer with BFG's regimen, i couldn't believe how dramatic it made my skin look and feel. That's when I did more research on AHA's, especially the Alpha Hydrox line, and converted to their products. I also found a website called cosmeticscop.com, where Paula Begoun, founder of Paula's Choice products talks about the benefits of also incorporating a beta hydroxy acid. I'm going to start using her products in my regimen; BHA at night and the Alpha Hydrox AHA in the morning along with my face wash and moisturizer.
Good luck to you who continue to push forward with BFG's regimen. I gave it my best and patience, but alas it wasn't for me. I'm a converted AHA/BHA user now. It has done wonders for my skin that proactiv, murad, accutane, BFG, everything I've ever tried has ever done. If you're wondering if AHA's or BHA's are good for your skin, I recommend doing some research on your own. go to drugstore.com or makeupalley.com and read the reviews yourself on Alpha Hydrox products.
I'm a veteran poster on this board. I have tryed everything. From Dans reg to eating like a rabbit. Carrots, strictly veggies. I Still got cystic acne. I have been in the hospital twice from my face being covered in cystic acne and getting and infection. I had cortizone shots done on a daily basis. I had one derm feel so sorry for me he gave me a shot pack so I could do it myself. Been on tane, antibiotics. You name it. I'm feed up with people saying you have to eat this way or that way to be clear stay away from this that and the other. I have figured out what it takes to be clear not just me but other people as well. I have tested this regimen on other people besides me so it works. Infact this regimen works so well it has gotten deleted on this board in the past. I have advertised the reg several times in years go by and it has gotten deleted so read it while you can before it gets deleted again. I know I know i been on this boad long enough to know people will say how can you say this regimen works for people. Well my question back to you is have you tried it.Its very simple.
All products can be had at walmart
Oxy 10 Chill Factor
Oxy Bar Soap
psyllium husk fiber capsules
Simple
In the morning take 6 psyllium husk fiber capsules
Then lather the oxy bar soap on your face.
Then rinse it off with a rag
Then use the oxy 10 chill factor apply to the acne prone areas. Let it sit on your face for 10 to 15 mins.
Then rinse it off with a rag. Let your face air dry. One might ask how thick should I put the oxy 10 chill factor on. I say just a decent amount. Not to thick but not to thin.
At night before you go to bed.
repeat same steps minus the taking of the husk fiber capsules since you already took them earlier.
Thats it no 2 inch thick bp no 30 min reg no crack donut look on your face no cystic acne. The thing I have realized is bp is not meant to be left on its meant to be taken off since your skin has already hit a saturation point. Do not say it doesnt work unless you phyiscally tried it.
I will take any questions.
ok

hi suitefox,
I have been doing a lot of research as well. the key to good skin is clean pores. I would agree with you about AHA/BHA. I am using Nu Skin pure cleansing gel for almost a week now and it has dried up my existing pimples quite fast. the main ingredient there is the papaya enzyme and lemon extract which i believe are some kind of AHAs. however, there are stil the marks and once in a while 3 to 5 small new once come up. i guess it is still to early to be expecting dramatic results with barely a week.
but Nu Skin has their acne medication products. it has AHA/BHA and some organic ingredients in it. I am contemplating of trying it because I know this will fully clear up my pores up to the deepest it could reach. I am just wondering if your skin was able to take the acids without irritating it? did you experience redness or flaking? are you using a moisturiser with it?
with the cleansing gel of nu skin i did not even felt a sting or excessive dryness so it is quite gentle.
any feedback is greatly appreciated. Good thing you have found your regimen that works for you. God bless
Hi guys,
I can't claim to have tried this regimen but I have done some research on diet/lifestyle and acne, especially adult acne. I believe that moderation is key...some fiber is an important part of a balanced diet but if you take 6 fiber supplements daily I can't imagine that your body will get any nutrients from the foods you eat! It may seem to help at first since you won't absorb foods that are bad for the skin, but eventually by starving your body of nutrients you will only make your skin worse...I could be wrong, but I can't imagine that this regimen is a healthy way to live!
i've been very very interested in going on this regimen the more i've read about it and the user logs on bfg's site. just a quick, probably obvious question -
would these pills work as well
https://www.amazon.com/Psyllium-Husks-610-100-Caps/dp/B00068UALK/
they are dirt cheap compared to the metamucil brand or whatever and i think i'll have to
buy all the products online
UPDATE FOR THIS THREAD- Just so people know bfg9000d has moved all questions and everything to this website:
I think what he says about fiber could benefit a lot here, (it has me) and I also think that the time he limit the products on the face are solid. Also, an above poster takes about her AHA regimen which I think bears looking into as well. Good luck everyone!
This regimen helped me tons (the supplements I took might have something to do with it also). But, anyways, I don't actually use the BP Oxy, I bought Triple Action Oxy since I couldn't find the BP one and it's been doing wonders. I also use St. Ivey's SA 2% scrub along with it. Also, I should recommend AHA Lotions. They're amazing. They've helped my dry skin and more. GL to you all~
I have been lurking this thread for a couple days. i am in DESPERATE Need to clear up my skin. i'm 18 and have had acne all my life it seems. Nothing makes it better. I have been on proactive for about an year and half and it doesn't seem to really help much.
I see that this thread is pretty old, does anyone who has been using it for months and months still clear?? please? i would really like to try it but i need to know if people are still clear.
Just checking back on this old thread. A couple of things I have to add that I think are important are make sure you drink plenty of water with your fiber as it's just crucial so it can wash though your system, and is good for your skin. And also a lot of people could check into a lower carb/glycemic index diet as it can really contribute to breakouts as does dairy in a lot of people, myself included.

Another thing I've done for myself and many others have done related to fiber/digestion is doing an enema when I break out. It always helps. My enemas are 4 Liters, so it's a lot, but it worth it to wash out the colon, improve the skin and help prevent future breakouts.

I've decided to try this regimen- i hope this works for me. I am a 31 y.o. female with moderate acne. I've been having cystic acne concentrated along the chin and jaw area. They stay on my face for at least a month, and the only way I was able to get rid of them completely was by seeing a dermatologist and have her inject them with cortisone.
will keep you posted on my progress!
I've been on the regimen for 23 days now. I had three cysts, and during the course a fourth developed. One decreased in size - but that's about it. I think the regimen works great to get the toxins out of the body faster (through the psyllium pills)... I don't see as many active pimples- but my cysts aren't budging!
Allikat- taking the pills are actually a good thing because it is a fiber supplement, and it is a fact that many people don't take enough fiber through their diet to help remove toxins out of the body faster. As for the oxy bar and chill factor, I think you will need to see how you tolerate it, but it shouldn't be bad at all since you don't leave it on your face throughout the day like topical creams/gels.
Jeffers- sorry I can't help you there.
Hello!
I'm a 17-year-old girl and I've been dealing with terrible skin since middle school. I've tried every kind of prescription topical there is-- differin, benzaclin, you name it, I tried it. When I was 13 I did a course of Accutane, and I didn't suffer any negative side effects at all. It worked for about six months afterward-- my skin was entirely clear and I thought that the ordeal was over. But after about six months my skin very rapidly returned to ow it was before. In fact, I now break out in areas I never used to break out in, such as my neck, cheeks, and jawline, whereas before it was all on my chin and forehead mostly.
I wanted to re-try Accutane, but our financial situation right now SUCKS, and 'Tane is wayy out of our price range. I cant afford any of the prescription topicals I used before either, and besides, they never did anything for me.
I was wondering... first of all, could my acne be partially a hormonal thing? I don't know if this is TMI or not, but I have extremely irregular periods-- as in, it skips months at a time. Also, I've researched it and it seems like many sources say that breakouts around the jawline tend to be hormone-related. So would birth-control pills help me out at all? Since they would regulate my periods and balance out my hormones supposedly...
Second point... I'm afraid to try Bfg's regimen because I've been so jaded by failure regimens in the past. Now I'm kind of just to the point where I'm beyond skeptical. I guess I need reassurance? I don't know. haha.
Third point! (Gosh I'm sorry this is so long...) What exactly are cysts like? I'm pretty sure I have them, but I'm not entirely certain. (Wow, I'm aware of how ignorant and stupid I sound right now...) I've researched them a ton and I still don't quite understand them... I guess I'm just slow... lol
Anyway-- HELP PLEASE! If I haven't scared everyone away with my incessant blabbing...

It seems that you have discovered that accutane works for a short while then the acne comes back with a vengence! I have read a few posts of people that are in the same boat. Perhaps you should consider Bfg's regimen as a start.
Your acne is likely to be partially due to horomone imbalance, since your menses are not regular. But I have discovered that other factors can contribute to acne as well- like a diet low in fiber.
I posted above my results with Bfg's regimen. It clears the inflamed acne- BUT at least for me it did not get rid of my cystic acne. A cyst is a type of acne that is under the skin- like a hard bump -that doesn't have a white head. They are bigger in diameter than your everyday pimple. Some are painful, and some aren't. They take a very long time to heal because they are under the skin and don't come to a head very easily. My experience with them is that I can't get rid of them if I don't go to the dermatologist and get them injected with cortizone. I believe these cysts are horomonal because I have decently cleared up except for them. They are stubborn. Everyone is different.
One guy here- beside Bfg- was able to rid himself of the cysts using this regimen... It won't hurt to try. I do encourage you to try it. I think that the psyllium capsules are essential because it is giving you the fiber you need to get toxins out of your system faster... you should note how many times you have a bowel movement per day... I think the norm is 2-3... so if it's less, then fiber will definitely help. And of course the oxy soap and facial wash will help to fight off the acne externally.
There are other systems out there - that I consider overboard... so why not starting off with something simple and wont break the bank.
The other thing that you may want to do in the future when you visit your doctor is to ask if you can get a food allergy test. That can help you figure out if there are any foods that may aggravate your acne.
I hope this helps! 😀
Wow!
Someone responded. hehe
Yeah, I talked to my mom about Bfg's regimen and I think I'm going to try it soon. I'm so ready to get rid of this problem and be able to enjoy my life more, ya know? I feel so tied down by this, and it's like the one thing you can't get away from... you can't escape your own face!
Hmm. I'm pretty sure I don't get cysts. I do get kinda big, hard-ish lumps under the skin, but they pretty much always come to a head eventually.
Okay, sometimes, I get a lump under the skin that I can TELL it's there, and I expect it to come up above the skin but then they randomly go back down without really breaking the surface. Why is this? Are they gone or are they just building up to come back? lol
Also... sometimes my face will itch really badly, so I scratch it, and then the next day a spot is there. =/ Gah! My face gets so itchy sometimes.
Yeah, those are just some random questions I have... lol
Wow!Someone responded. 🙂 hehe

sooo true- one can never escape their own face! Well said!
Well some cysts do come to a head... mine don't. Everyone is different. The next time you go to a dermatologist, see what he/she calls them just to be sure. But they usually take longer to heal than a white head.
I don't know about those pimples that appear to come up to the surface but then disappear- but hey that's a good thing!
When you do scratch your face, make sure you aren't scratching with your nail, because we get a lot of bacteria and gunk stored there sometimes. Scratch with the tip of your finger or knuckle. And try to carry purell or an equivalent to it to disinfect your hands before you have to touch your face.
By the way, have you started the regimen?
I am a newcomer to this board and just want to say that I will be trying your remedy. I have tried everything it seems and now my derm wants to put me on Accutane. All these expensive cleansers, antibiotics and blue laser treatment resulted in minimal success
I would like to try an alternative before going on Accutane...
One question
Does this dry your skin so will I have to use a mosturizer?
Thanks
