Hi everyone,

I've had scarring for the past 3 years that has really wrecked my state of mind. I'm in my 30s now, and had smooth skin prior to this happening.

I've seen some of the top cosmetic derms in my area (NYC) and have been told that treatments are not likely to improve the scars much, and have a considerable chance of making them worse.

Can I get some feedback from people here? I want to hold out hope, and I think that manual treatments like microneedling and/or subcision could help.

Tbh its really really hard to see your scarring. Either its very minimal or the photos are not that great. Can you take some more with overhead lighting to cast shadows?

the docs you went to are right doing tca cross here could indeed widen your scars I dont think subcision would be of use personally subcision is best for rolling scars not for atrophy

id suggest secret PRO RFM to boost collagen production and a prescription retinol

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, my scarring is minimal. However, there are two deeper scars that I tried to emphasize with the lighting.

There are also a few conspicuous icepick scars (or perhaps, smaller boxcars) that I would like to improve.

Subcision was recommended for the one rolling scar I have, though that personally doesn't bother me as much as the other marks I mentioned.

Do you think microneedling would significantly help?

I don't wanna be someone who downplays other's insecurities, but I truly don't see any scaring at all here. Your skin is basically flawless...
