I think I have a combination of icepick and boxcar scars. It's pretty bad on my temples.
So far, I have seen one aesthetician who recommended a single RF microneedling (Genuis) session followed by a single fraxel laser (Halo) session.
I am hesitant to go with this treatment plan because I've read that RF microneedling can potentially cause fat loss (depending on technician skill) and is not very effective for icepick scars.
1. I would like to hear from others what they think of my scars (e.g. severity, type of scars).
2. Also, please suggest any treatments you think I should I undertake for my scars.
3. I'm in the Dallas (DFW) area. Please let me know if you have any dermatologist/plastic surgeon recommendations in this area.
Your scars look so different depending on the lighting. The before and afters I've seen from "deeper" scars with microneedling aren't usually that great. It's improved but not amazing.
I would get a second opinion, and maybe even a third. It's your face and you need to be 100% sure of what the plan is.
My feeling off the top of my head would be subcision (with suction), and then maybe TCA CROSS, and then maybe laser or microneedling to finish it off. For that one scar right near your eyebrow, even excision might be an interesting option.
But...stay your own advocate, decide for yourself alongside a really good, experienced scar specialist, and only do stuff once you feel you are on the right track.
