Anyone heard of it?
Basically I went to a plastic surgeon in a top hospital in my city for scar revision, he agreed I needed an excision on the scars but before that he referred me another plastic surgeon who does recosma laser. I consulted him online and he seems very very confident on this recosma laser, saying that it will heal atleast 80% within 6-10 sessions. Another plastic surgeon I consulted online said do excision and then co2 laser but this recosma plastic surgeon is very adamant on not doing any excision saying its gonna hamper the healing process from recosma laser- He shown be pictures of his patient whos dog bite scars have healed 90%
went to another dermatolgist for an opinion, he said tca+subscision+laser but saying maybe 30% ( last year visited about 2-3 more dermats and all 3 said tca woudnt suit my skin. - so reluctant on this option.
Please give me your opinion. Problem is, I cant find much users for recosma laser.
Option 1- recosma laser ( in my gut I feel right option ) ( 40 years as a plastic surgeon, saying he stopped co2 in 2005 )
option 2- co2 laser ( much cheaper then the rest, but cost is not an issue )
option 3 - sub+tca+laser
option 4 - excision
I haven't heard much about this recoSMA laser either. It doesn't seem to have a lot of bad side effects, so I suppose you could always try it and if it doesn't work, you could do more invasive options.
My only concern would be wasting money if it doesn't work. It's good to go with your gut though. Whatever you try, please show us how it works.

yeah ill keep it updated but why is this forum dead compared to last year?
tomorrow booked first session, went fully clean shaved and plastic surgeon is extremely confident on them
This will be cool to follow along with.
Yeah, the site is kinda dead. I wish it was more active! If you have ideas on how to do that, let me know. I could use some volunteers to get things back on track social media wise and stuff like that.
I did not do the recosma and having seconds thoughts now. Took my father today and plastic surgeon was more caution about the side effects, he was like u will have pigmentation / skin will be dark for 3-6 months and after the recosma complete he will use another laser to remove pigmentation ( which he didnt say earlier ) so i got cold feet and reconsidering treatment options.
I saw some co2 video on youtube and downtime was like 9 days, in this case my face will be black till I complete ie 3-5 months minimum assuming 1 session every 3 weeks. Also earlier he said 6 sessions and today he was like minimum of 6 to 15 sessions but its promising 90% improving again and again.
Feeling really depressed now and back to loop of decision making. According to you what all I should do? excision for the bigger ones with tca/subscision and fractional laser or just old school c02 machine?
Tomorrow or saturday will visit another clinic who had online session who offered me co2 ( cost wise also is 60% cheaper to recosma ) shall i try?
You are right to trust your gut! Especially when somebody's stories change, that's when I also get cold feet.
Absolutely don't feel depressed. You did amazing. This is the process, and you are learning to be your own advocate. You are in charge, no one else.
In my opinion you should learn as much as you can about the various processes and treatments. Then you should go see, shoot, even 3 more people for a consultation. See what they say. Don't feed them anything at all. Just see what they say. Then, after they tell you, that's the time to ask questions.
And once you've seen several people, compare what they've said. What is the overlap? Who made you feel most confident? What aligns best with your research so far?...things like that.

whats your recommendation since ur an admin im sure you would know much more then me atleast
It looks like you have mostly deep icepick scars. Excision is normally what works best to approximate completely getting rid of them. TCA Cross can also work for icepick scars, but I wonder if yours are too deep for TCA to really make a big difference. That's a question I would pose to whoever you end up going with.
Also, I'm not sure from your picture, but it looks like you might have one deeper, wider scar. For that, I would think subcision (with suction), might help as a first line treatment. Then, maybe a little fat transfer to bulk it up underneath.
But...I'm not a doctor, I don't treat people, and I'm only an expert at the data from studies and from what I've read about all of these treatment options. I'm not a real-world expert. I'd like to be at some point, but I am not yet.
