Hello I have done laser resurfacing about 6-8 times over the past several years and im afraid that it just might be a waste of money and isnt helping anymore is there anything else I can do? It is mostly just on my left cheek but a lot of ice pick scars in one area.
Have you tried TCA Cross?

6-8 times, wow. Which type of laser? Fractional? Erbium? Typically I'd think resurfacing would help the most as you said with a laser but if you try other things you should test it on various spots like 1-2 scars first. Given the depth and contour I'd have to assume a ablative laser but 6-8 times is not normal to not show improvement unless it's a weak treatment.
I'll be honest I'd search Dr. lim's site for suggestions. He's debatable as for how he's viewed but his advice for certain scars seems pretty informed. I often search google for dr lim and scar treatments to brainstorm. I found the articles helpful because they at least tell you what's good for what. Like I was considering microneedling/prp but he highlights it's really not good for many things, is entry level, and not good for anything but super shallow. Etc.
You definitely need some sort of aggressive resurfacing, but you need the right treatment with good risk/reward. I wish I could be more helpful, but the entire industry is very hit or miss in general.

I believe it was fractional. And it looked great when I would first do it but the scars seemed to mostly come back each time and I was unsure if I should just keep doing it or if it was a waste of money at that point. Any advice or information is helpful though, thank you.

So then you saw microswelling and it didn't help. 6-8 times means either the laser isn't helping obviously or it's the wrong laser. Fractional seems to help certain scars though. I had a fractional test spot on a atrophic linear scar and the effect seems to have filled up that area a bit for sure. Actually I had an infection as well so it was a ugly few months. But the laser spot did definitely fill volume now going on 4 months. I don't know how it would respond to my icepick remaining scars though.
I definitely think you can improve those scars I just don't know where to lead you to. Fractional laser, Erbium, very ablative dermabrasion seem to be your best best because you need ablative resurfacing. A long time ago I responded real well to extremely ablative dermabrasion although imperfect it really blended amazingly but it's rarely done nowadays and riskier as it requires personal steering of the dr. etc.
Try to research more experienced doctors near you, and get more advice. Steer clear of more simplistic suggestions like needling or TCA cross imo, you need ablative resurfacing. Google is also your friend, so is realself. Please do research on various lasers, dermabrasion etc like looking at Lim's successful gallery and also how similar scars reacted to certain lasers. It's a lot of research, I even look at medical studies from google searches like fractional laser scars etc.
Depending how deep your scars are as well, maybe they are too tethered to respond to fractional. I know in my consultation with one doctor, he alluded to the fact that tethered scars don't usually untether via fractional. That honestly could also be a factor in why zapping it is temporary because the collagen can't build underneath if tethered. Although that also brings about another risk of say subcision before a resurfacing but it might be worth looking into as well.
I know it's hard though, keep researching. Just another note. You probably want to test any unknowns on a section of that area if you do something aggressive or unfamiliar just in case. Testing is always helpful to see how your skin reacts as well to new stuff.
