Hello all,

Attached you will find my acne scar pics. It's been so hard to find anyone that is willing to reply on these forums that has experience, so if you do, I would be so greatful.

I had a virtual consult with Dr. Peter Rullan a few days ago. I live in TX and would fly out, do procedure and leave same day (he ok'd that, said patients do that all the time). He suggested three sessions of phenol cross, canula subcision, and erbium all done at same time, spaced at least 2 months apart.

At the time, I didn't know to ask him if suctioning after subcision was necessary. I read from several studies and online sources that suctioning after subcision creates better eficacy.

My questions:

1.) How bad are my scars and do you think this trio Rullan suggested would help?

2.) I don't want fillers. The idea that my body could reject them is not something I want to deal with... I also heard of other issues with them. Do you think it's possible for me to gain meaningful improvement without fillers?

3.) Does anyone have experience doing this trio, what percentage did your scars improve, and how many sessions did you need?

4.) Rullans office takes forever to get back to you. His office manager is not very responsive. Did you experience this? It makes me worried that if a complication occurs, I'm on my own.

5.) Anyone fly in and out the same day of treatment?

6.) Do you have before and after pics?

7.) What are your thoughts on suctioning?

8.) How/when are you supposed to suction if you had phenol cross and erbium the same day?

9.) If you suctioned, what is a specific suctioning product that you used? There are a million online and I have no idea which is appropriate for the face.

10.) Is there a video online of someone doing suctioning?

11.) Are there any doctors in the U.S. that you would recommend for my type of scars? I'm leaning towards Dr. Rullan but am open to others too.

Any other info you could give me would be very helpful.

I've been wanting to treat my scars for 15 years but the lack of information out there and the inability to connect with people that actually had success treating them was what stopped me. I hope I can connect with some people on here. Please help if you know.

Thanks so much!

Your scars are not severe. So I am assuming three sessions could be enough to see a change. Subcsion I dont think so because not many rolling scars. But hey maybe it might help. But imo cross and erbium are the most effective in your case.

@getsmart121 thanks for reply! I thought the same as you initially.. I thought I only need cross and laser because I am scared on the idea of subcision, but Dr. Rullan thinks subcision would help too. He claims that it does help boxcar too? We shall see. I booked an appt with him on March 1.

Not bad to be honest. In shadows/angles they look sharper as they do with all of us but overall they are not that bad, but still visible. I don't know much about phenol cross, not sure what they would subcise tbh, erbium probably might be best bet since scars are shallowish. Other dr's in US no idea. Most local doctors that have good selection of procedures are worth investigating, particularly on the coastal areas but avoid the botox docs or docs that are mostly scammers or look like they are marketers. I think right now Rullan is the best "stable" choice you know what you get I guess.

I flew in and out on the same day for a couple times without any problem.
