So I've had multiple treatments done in the past 2 years for my deep acne scarring, I've had three rounds of CO2 laser fractional in November of 2021, I've had around six superficial chemical peels, five light micro needling sessions, and so far 2 RF microneedling sessions this past month, I feel that the Deep scarring isn't going away but some of the superficial scarring is going away, a couple of deep ones on my right cheek are from last year in October I'm not sure if they're still too fresh to really decide whether or not they're deep, they're all so still pigmented as well so they might look deeper than they actually are. These scars are only 2 -3 years old.
I have a scheduled subscision in November in Massachusetts, I'm nervous about that because people have reported scarring where the needle inserts.
Any personal recommendations would help!
One strong recommendation I have is to spend your time getting under the care of someone really good. I think doing tons of superficial peels and light microneedling sounds like a waste of money, and I hate seeing people spin their wheels.
In your case, I'm pretty sure a combo of things is what would be recommended. Subcision (with suction) is usually a good start. My bet is that an experienced cosmetic surgeon or derm might suggest a combo of things with subcision...maybe ablative laser (although if fractional ablative already didn't do much then maybe not), or a deep peel, or maybe even an excision or two if needed. My point is it's an art, and I would take a break if I were you and instead of launching into your next thing, slow down and spend your time getting under the care of someone really good. Make sure they specialize in acne scar repair, are passionate about it, and don't waver or seem indecisive. See a few people before you make your decision and go with who you are most comfortable with. In other words, relentlessly stay your own advocate.
