Hi All-

I've been lurking for a little while. I wanted to get your feedback. I'll be going for my first saline apt. on 2/27. I had my initial consulation last Tuesday.

So, I've read some good stuff on Dr. Sire and his saline program. But I want to help those who are interested by providing as much information as I can during the 2-3 mos of treatment and the months following.

Please let me know how you guys would like me to provide information on such things as:

1. progress

2. in office treatment (process, pain, etc)

3. cost

4. etc.

Thx.

Thanks for helping. Detailed pictures that hgihlight scarring, while perhaps embarrassing, would be super helpful. If you have great results, which I hope you do, I would be interested to know whether you think it is practical for Dr Sire to treat someone living in SF suburbs. Or, does he recommend a Dr associate in Bay Area.

Best wishes

These injections are only designed for minor, superficial depressions. I sent them my photots and they denied me treatment based on the severeity.

I would say my scars improved about 20-25%. I have mild scarring on my cheeks and chin area. Dr Sire targeted those areas mostly. Overall for the cost it was worth it and Dr Sire is a good guy. I was a little disappointed I did not see more improvement.

Hi,

I'm interested in looking into saline injections for my acne scars, but I'm in New Jersey, and going to California for treatment is not practical.

Has anyone heard of someone doing this back East?

Thanks.

what is the verdict on saline injections for acne scars?

I've had saline injections before but it was combined with subcision.

Is saline injection alone without subcision effective? How does saline by itself work to improve scars?

Reading through the Dr. Sire posts on this forum (there are many: https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Aacne.org+sire&oq=site%3Aacne.org+sire&ie=UTF-8#q=site:acne.org+sire&hl=en ), the final verdict appears quite good and the risk of suffering from side effects or causing collateral damage is quite low with this method. It appears saline injections also work on shallow atrophic scars, including ice pick scars. Interestingly, Dr. Sire, the pioneer behind saline injections, is also part of Advanced Skincare Surgery & MedCenter in Fullerton, and they offer Total FX treatment for acne scars. I am pretty excited to learn about all of this, and have already emailed their office. Hoping to get a consultation with Dr. Sire as soon as I return to LA.

Hmmm...

As I'm reading more about Dr. Sire's "saline injection" technique, I'm realizing it's actually not that impressive. He simply injects saline at a 45 degree angle underneath each scar. I thought subcision using a needle was involved, but that doesn't appear to be true. Based on posts on this forum and other boards around the net, it appears a lot of people have tried his technique at home or had treatment with Dr. Sire directly. If you are one of them, can you please post an update on whether you experienced permanent improvement from Dr. Sire's "saline injection" technique? I don't quite understand how simply injecting saline could have any kind of long-term effects on scars. Perhaps, I just don't fully understand the procedure and possible benefits. If you can share any experience or knowledge on this at all, please do.
