The most important thing is the skill of the doctor. Get multiple consultations and see who you are comfortable with. Ask them for photos if they have any. Ask many questions including what type of suturing they do and how the doctor thinks the scar will heal. Scars heal differently depending on the location, person (and ethnicity), and operation. Will the doctor do any filler injections after the excision?

See if the doctor does any lasering after the procedure. It might not be necessary but some doctors do.
