Im 34 and ive been suffering from severeacne scars for years. I have all types of scars and i went to a reputable dermatologist in California. My first treatment was done couple months ago was subcision and microneedling with prp. My second treatment was done few days ago, i did subcision, microneedling with prp, tca cross, and sculptra. I have already spent $5000 for two treatments and I barely see any difference.should i do another treatment????? Will it ever go away??? MD said i need a lot of subcisions/microneedling but I dont think i can spend more $$$$ with little to no improvement. I attached photos from before (first two) and after the second treatment (last photo, still has scab) Help!!
He is scamming you and extracting money from you. Microneedling wont do shit. You are not doing Microneedling for in office.cross I can understand. Atleast it might help in lifting softening the edge. But not so much with subcsion. You need to melt the edge with the laser. Go with erbium full ablation. Dr Taylor does it. This will blend the scar edge to normal skin. There will be temporary pigmentation loss but you will repigment in 2 weeks. But before that if you want to raise scar more maybe you can try for tca cross again. Just get tca cross and decline other treatments. But I think you dont have depth which is great all is needed is to wipe out the edges.
here is full ablation removing scar edges

For the deeper rolling scar consider spot Taylor that is the only big rolling scar I see. Checkout dr rullan as well, only get cross or erbium . Nothing else wont give you overall improvement.

Like ^ that's a total, 100% scam, at least for microneedling and the other things are too ambiguous and not the right things. I would nuke the crap out of your entire skin with the harshest dermabrasion known to man or a super deep laser. Probably have to get underneath all of it with ablation. I'm unsure what type of scars the darker spots are, those look specialized.
You need to see an expert no matter the outcome an expert is going to have to work with you until it's improved even if it takes several surgeries.
Moreover, if there's any sort of state insurance or work insurance or medicaid or anything else I would look at seeing if they'd approve anything because most of the time more severe cases are looked on as medically necessary for a wide swath of reasons by insurers. It's just hard sometimes to go "out of network" so it's something you might have to work at.
I wouldn't being to know a proper chronology because various things have to be done in certain orders. An expert has to make that determination. I'm sure it can be improved though, most anything can be with the right doctor, work, procedures.
Phenol peel would be good here. I had similar type of scarring and it faded dramatically.

Yes phenol peel is comparable to full ablation but very expensive. All these are second degree burns. So ofcourse it will work. Second degree burns works great for shallow scars edges and shallow icepick.
I had 1 box scar similar to yours that responded so well from Fraxel Re:pair. 90-95% improvement, like the circumference of the scar kept getting smaller and shallower overtime, It was weirdly amazing. I only had 1 scar at the time so I cant really comment if it is consistent 90+ % improvement on every scar. Down time took almost 2 months tho.
I think a lot of things can work for these, TCA cross is where I'd start, would probably get that at least once more, then look into types of laser / resurfacing. Important you find a better doctor though who isn't charging so much that you also trust. Microneedling is a somewhat ineffective treatment you could drop that's probably raising up the price. Have you tried raising concerns about the cost to him/her? If you're already out of pocket 5k after two treatments, well I hate to break it to you but I think its extremely rare, near impossible for anyone to have desired results in two treatments without filler or getting something extreme (phenol, laser resurfacing).

You won't see any results for potentially months. Your body doesn't just magically grow large chunks of skin to replace the scars in a few days.
Curb your expectations and understand its a long journey and will require more treatments.
