It seems dr rullan is missing a crucial step in acne scars. Which is the abrasion of acne scars using a sandpaper. So if you are still seeing hard edges even after peel. This can be attributed as to why. The peel has been inspired by this derm yoram fintsi as mentioned in his paper as well.
look for phase 2 in the section. You have to understand just by leaving the peeling solution is not going to melt the hard edges. We have to actually abrade the healthy tissue and make it inline with unhealthy skin as well to make it flat. For some reason this step is deleted. The qtip removal of epidermis part is mentioned here but after that sandpaper abrasion is mentioned.

for someone who doesnt have much texture issues he will be fine but someone who has texture will greatly benefit from this step.
Can we all just agree how pathetic the science is or has come in 25 years. I mean it's not just for acne scars, for stretch marks for women or falls/scars on leg or whatever needs healing/masking there's basically a giant cespool of uselessness after 25 years. I was hoping if I couldn't see perfect skin in my lifetime at least gen x or z could probably not at this pathetic rate.
The problem is they all are focusing on what damage strategy to do. But instead they should compare it with the people who got acne but recovered without scars. That is the golden formula and then compare it with acne scar people if we find the missing puzzle then we can redamage the skin and the skin should recover just fine

True they should figure out or test how to make the body generate "normal skin" versus scar skin. When a injury occurs the initial response is to patch it up using normal skin but when it's too severe or injured over and over it's scarred. I know I'm just stating a common sense 101 but to illustrate I think you're correct that the science or labs should've focused on how to make the body just reconstruct or recognize it as normal skin again or something.
Idk. I think in general it's just disappointing. Back in 2000 when I had a lot of acne I never thought in 23 years they'd have practically no progress or better solutions in general. But then again how long has AIDS, Cancer or other things existed so I guess those people are just as pissed in a different way. If I had a kid with cancer for example after 40 years of research and billions in funding I'd be livid there's no cures too.

Well actually the people who dont scar produce the right amount of collagen not less not more. We have to study these people more.

As far as I know most people who have ordinary acne don't 'scar' because the injury heals normally. Most teens have some level of acne and don't scar. Even some cystic stuff can still cause trouble and rupture and heal relatively normally based on what I remember. I think it's only when there's severe injuries or injuries over and over in the same spot, that's when scabs and other things can't subsidize the healing. The body just senses the injury and rushes to heal with scar tissue. Basically our body doesn't care if society has preconceptions or norms it just heals any way it likes.
Scar tissue is produced when the body in general senses an urgent need to heal as fast as possible or when something already healed as scar tissue it can only re-heal as scar tissue.
I know I'm stating the obvious but what I'm trying to understand is what you mean by certain people with acne don't scar? In my interpretation it depends on the degree, amount of acne in same spot, severity, and type of acne mostly.
Or do I have any parts wrong?
