Deep rolling scar one or two. Subcision plus filler is the ideal route

Seems like a pretty simple case of subscision and/or filler (temporary/scupltra etc)to attempt to generate healing in that area of depression. It's mostly isolated in that one spot which makes it kind of easier to treat probably in regards to filling/subscision. Just pick a good dr whose done it a lot.

Yeah it's definitely hard for me to tell. When you look close it almost looks like a cluster of thin boxscar scars, idk because of the defined borders.Ok, I'm getting a subcision next week froma recommended doctor on this site.

Thanks, yeah I'll see what subcision-suction does. And yeah it's mostly this area that has scars, I actually got a little belotero injected here, but I didnt get subcision prior, totally regret getting it, had some removed, butthere's definitely some filler still in there.

belotero

Why did you get it removed, or why did you regret getting it? I only ask because it seems to only last 6-12 months like juvederm?

I think it lasts longer on the upper cheeks. I regret getting it because had a spa inject it, the spa seemed very experienced with filler injection in middle-age women but I think they mostly treatwrinkles. Belotero actually worked really well with this tiny boxscar closer lower in the cheek closer to nose. Made itdisappear even though it's still tethered? No idea. But yeah no it didn't make the above scars look any better, the scars were just pushed out almost lookinghypertrophic which I didnt like.

^ This advice @harmlessboy1441 was so on point also @getsmart121, thanks so much! I ended going to Dr Rullan and yep he said the same thing. He strongly suggested filler, so I agreed and he didn't even put much in. Super happy so far with results post-week and 1/2 later. I'll also update in another couple weeks when the remaining swelling goes down.

Also want to mention that Dr. Rullan said that I had a few boxcars but the majority of my scars were atrophic. Which was new to me because the acne scar type guide on here only lists 3  besides hypertrophic. I made sure to ask for clarification and he said yeah there's actually 5 different types of acne scars. Rolling, boxcar, icepick, atrophic and hypertrophic. I also asked him if I had rolling scars and, as far as I recall, he didnt think so and said they were "atrophic." Just a heads up if anyone wants to do research on that.

One last thing, I also asked if I could do suction cup with the addition of the filler and he said that was alright. He suggested using very light suction and I've been doing that also.

Looks good. If it reabsorbs depending on the filler, I (the) hope the subcision generates some healing each time though. I don't think anything is going to be perfect obviously because you're raising flawed skin in many cases of course but it looks good and flat in your case.

Post 3 week update:

Ok well... the swelling has definitely gone down and yeah I still see an improvement but definitely the scars on the left side are still noticeable. The area sticks out a little I'm pretty sure, but no where near as bad as the time I did filler with no subcision, at this other place.

image.jpeg.b92f70c8c250f350fab233b57062eddc.jpeg

In the same lighting/area as before you can't really tell it's raised but...

image.jpeg.97dc1a1c42271c194c17adf9397c67c9.jpeg

in my bathroom where the light is much harsher you can notice a little lumpiness. This is ok for me because it's only HA filler and I do think I'm making improvements/heading in right direction.

Also, I think because of the nature of there being so many tethers on this side I think lumpiness and fillers will be common. Although looking at me 5-7 feet away this isn't noticeable and there's been good improvement.

What do you guys think in general for next steps? Another subcision or go for phenol peel/erbium? Also I'm not talking about his intense phenol treatment just the lighter one?

Overall I think Dr. Rullan is an amazing doctor and been motivated for decades to improve acne scars!
