Yeah I think lasers might have an advantage for more shallow but numerous scarred pores. But as usual I'm also a big fan of very ablative dermabrasion for icepick scars and pores because I had the same all over. Dermabrasion didn't eliminate the scars but blended them to where many are invisible unless proded. Personally those two are areas to explore. Start getting 3 or 4 plastic surgery opinions and report back here some surgeons just upsell no fixes.

I feel that dermabrasion is to extreme in this scenario and its also very hit or miss lasers are far superior in the way of safety. Therefore in his case I would have an aggressive subcision and laser

Any suggestion on the laser or other procedure so this guy knows? Would you concur with erbium full ablative? Any significant risks you think to the pores?

Both Erbium full ablative 400 microns depth then co2 fractional deep low density for collagen due to age and and volume loss and probably subcision before that if your looking to get the best results

Is there any excessive risk to any sort of grid like results I only say that because I'm not too familiar with lasers but anything that is "fractional" does that just poke holes in the skin rather than resurfacing the lasers entirely?
I do agree though with more than a few scarred pores you gotta do the ablative laser probably. I mean you could do dermabrasion I just don't know if that's more iffy it might be the same. Erbium sounds pretty reasonable.
Just be careful with fractional co2. I've seen too many situations where people with mild scarring get fractional co2 side effects and end up in despair.
Your scarring is mild. I would consider fully ablative laser or a physician assisted TCA peel. Maybe subcision but remember the nodules that could remain for some time. Like I said, when you're dealing with mild scarring you really need to consider the downsides.

Id you do full ablation and co2 fractional in the same treatment it stops textual issues
