Hi all,

Looking for any and all help on the following because after 5+ years, I still don™t know why this happens.

full disclosure: I™m not certain this is a form of scar but it™s the only option I can think of.

So around 5 years ago, this indent/line appeared in my nose. It was barely noticeable to others at first but has gotten worse over the years. But here™s the weird part: it comes and goes! As far as I can tell, it™s more prominent throughout the day and/or when I™m cold (I live in a cold country so that™s most of the time) but in the mornings or when I™m hot, my nose looks completely normal and no sign of the indent.

How weird?!? I™ve tried every type of skincare you can think of but don™t know what™s causing it to be able to treat it effectively. My beautician thinks I™m crazy when I try to explain to her. I feel that it makes a huge difference to how my nose looks and really really cuts my confidence.

The first 2 pics are when I™ve just woken up (my normal nose).

and here is my nose during the day. Same lighting, same day, different nose. The huge crease at the top is super frustrating

so weird, right?? Im hoping anyone can share any ideas or tips on what causes this and how best to tackle it!

thanks in advance!

It might be because of fluids running through your anatomy certain times as he says, or other anatomical things going on under that part of your skin. The skin tissues are the biggest organ after all. Truth is, you probably should see a dermatologist and try to take better pictures to capture in the same format as you just did but clearer.

Whether it's a scar or some sort of tiny atrophy in that one spot or an injury is the question.

Scars (from acne) do typically shift or change appearance due to vastly different things throughout the day including fluids (dryness/hydration), anatomical stuff, irritation, light, environment, and many things. The mental troubles can come from this lack of what to expect or lack of constant appearance other people have. I take it you have some of that going on.So in general while it's weird to think this at first glance, considering this it's actually sensible if you think about it.
