I just want to post this, so that views or opinions posted here are peoples personal experiences and what could very well for that person could not work the same way for you. At the end of day the advice thrown out here are people own experiences and warrant their own research as well. We are not dermatologist, always listen to doctors but the treatment plan couldnt be fallen toofar from the consensus that is where this forum comes in to avoid such derms if the treatment proposed by them is far off that what is known to be working for acne scars. For example doctors proposing microdermabrasion for ice picks scars. Use this forum as a way to filter bad doctors.

Here are some explanation by rullan on how to treat different acne scars. https://www.instagram.com/tv/CRXuOFGFjJq/?utm_medium=copy_link

please note that if you have severe scars like deep boxcar or icepick scars, a risky but fastest approach is excision. Noother treatment can beat this if you heal well. Cross and everything require many sessions if you have deep scar and them also not guaranteed it will fill in. If you are conservation start with safe approach first 3 sesssion and if you dont see it going in the right direction then opt for aggressive options. Even then go for 1 or 2 to see how your scars respond. Excision is the only procedure that is accounted per scar basis. So you can pay for 1 or 2 and see if you like results. Lasers are mandatory post 1 month of excision I think fully ablative is better to fade any imperfections left from excision and flatten the surface and remove any pih from excision area.

Thank you - GetSmart. Makes me feel better knowing that my recent botched attempt was not my fault in terms of the right path to take. It was a very deep ice pick scar - perfect pinhole that was hard to disguise. Looked like someone took a pin and poked me and then light scar ring around it. I was so worried about TCA Cross making the hole bigger, possibly should have gone that route for an ice pick scar - who knows, too late now. I believe that you are absolutely right - now that I have my sunken cheeked propped up from fillers and subcision - some odd reaction after the excision and the way my scar healed and also his lake of a refined stitch work for a facial excision (should have had dissolvable stitches and much more refined job so center in my face (researched MOHs surgeries). So, think mine was both plastic surgeon technique and my healing. Next stop is the CO2 laser. Agree that this must be considered a multi-step approach. I thought it would be a simple excision and this has been 6 months of physical and mental torture. Trying to self-navigate this as well all do here. Find the right procedure, the right doctor, the right timing of all of it... Ready to get to an ok place with this and move on with life. In retrospect, should have left my pinhole alone, accepted it...was living a good life then. Never could have predicted this horrible journey...
