So you mean it opened up thats the only way it will be like a eraser size. It happen to one of My excision icepick scar it opened up. I just put a 30 percent tca on it one month from excision. And a month and half later it is almost filled. 70 percent I would say.

No, it didn't open up, it just did not have structure underneath the scar - maybe I just don't produce enough collagen anymore and sunk - a dent.

Oh ok best bet laser the area in full ablative mode. I had a excision scar for some reasonthe area was indented aka closed but indented. It little bit produced collagen over time maybe 25 percent, and for 6 months this was the improvement. But only after fully ablative laserthat scar itgot flatten with the very shallow linear flat looking scar I.e what I was expecting after excision in the first place. Glad I went for a laser session as it was bothering me a lot. I understood one thing laser is a must after excision. Its just weird the way some excision could heal.

As usual, you are so helpful. Your situation sounds so similar to mine. I was hoping for that nice linear scar as well. That I could live with. It is a big dent in my cheek, changing the contours of my face that has caused me to be in a tailspin of depression for the past 6 months. Do you know why it sinks? Is it because it is right on the apple of the cheek? You have given me hope that lasering is a must next step. I need to smooth out the texture from the damaged area around the scar, the discoloration that does not seem to fade and flatten it a bit more. The subcision and filler improved it quite a bit, but still not 'normal looking' when you look at me. Have made progress and now I hate to go through the CO2 profractional laser, but also want the nightmare to end or just get to a place where I did what I could = take it as far, and move on. This is so all consuming - such wasted time of my life, my mental health - feel robbed. The pinhole bothered me, yes, and yet lived with it for 20 years. This was a whole new, big and unpredictable animal. Never would have done this if I would have known I would lose part of my cheek in the process. I had other cystic scars excision and they have a small dip, but this was such a big area. Had none right on the apple of my cheek, so maybe it was the location. Feel though I have a plan, on the road to recovery, getting to an 'ok' place. Would you just go for it and do the whole lasering of my face or just focus on that cheek? That is the big question that I need to decide before Sept 22.

You can target the bad area only if you are conservative. Always play the game when you have to.
