Taken today. Dried blood finally came off. You can see the stitch is curved. He said it makes it camouflage the scar. Still swollen.

aquaphor being applied daily. Finished antibiotics. I also took pills for swelling. I was advised NOT to wet bandage/tape for one week. It was hard but I succeeded. Washed other areas of face and took a shower with a detachable showerhead.

Sorry to have to post individual pictures, the new website does not allow me to add pictures in a sequence like the older version. I hope this was helpful. The scar should flatten after two months or so. Laser 5-6 weeks after surgery. Will update as it heals.

Oh u went to the guy that I posted pictures about. How much did he charge for this excision. He is correct having curved excision hides the scar better. If a really hard for me to tell as well from 5e pictures that you had surgery. But just wanted to know why did you had such big surgery area. Was this the same linear scar you were doing on top.

hey getsmart! same cheek of that scar yes but not the linear from Mascaro. This scar excision was to get as many scars as possible in some excision. Cost was $3500

Looks clean work. But I guess this will tighten the whole cheek from both sides plus take out the bad area of the scars. Lets hope it works out in the end. But like I said acne scarring matters skin as a whole. But I hope it works out fine. Your cheeks seem tight. I believe this stretch will also make a lot of scars smoother.

But how do you feel about excision so far

I have no high expectations that way I am not disappointed too much. All I really hope for is that its better than what was there previously Thats all I can do.

It feels fine. I massage it with a cleanser in the shower and massage it gently here and there. I saw its excision-knife cut appearance more today. Ive been applying silcone sheets all day since friday. Ive got to family gatherings just fine with the silicone bandage on. Nobody seems to truly care about that. I will be cleared to lift weights this friday, 3 weeks since the surgery. Looking forward.

Hope all is well and happy holidays.

I will post more healing photos, perhaps take one everyday or every other day to see how it changes.

could use botox to get a slimmer line and no bad scarring issues

tension plays a very important role when it comes to healing a wound.

Im fine with how it feels without botox. Youd be surprised how much you are limited to smile with the internal dissolve sutures. Meaning, smiling is at half measure, really. Plus, I heard botox does not produce a significant amount of scar improvement as one would think.

I'm very curious on how it looks like now! So far it looks good. Do you have any more recent pictures?

Best regards

@friendlyrose Hey! It looks better than ever, in my opinion. I wish you could see it in person but I took a ton of pics. It's still swollen or raised a bit from the sutures underneath but every day or so with facial massage it slowly decreases.

Hey guys, Still here. Sorry to not post pics, it just takes me a bit with the blurrying of my eyes and such and also the new layout of this website requires me to post pics one by one instead of a train of them in one post. Im a bit busy with grad school right now, but will post in depth pics of my healing from Janjuas scar excision. Which by the way, was one of the best decisions I made thus far.

Hope all is well.

Hello, I had my excision done with Dr. Janjua 16 days ago. Did you end up getting the resurfx laser treatments like he advises? Just wondering if you think those made a difference if so? Otherwise, how do things looks for you?

Hey! I am so curious too how everything turned out for yall. 🙂

I had my virtual appointment with him the other day. I ended up going with a local doctor near me cuz I was concerned with how long the incision line would be with Dr. Janjua. (Also this doctor mentioned getting it covered by insurance.) HOWEVER, if this excision with local does not turn out the way I want, I will be going to Dr. Janjua because I still believe he is probably the best there is.

THE COMPLETE UPDATE: *Pictures are uploaded in order*

December 2, 2022: Dr. Janjua surgery day was December 2, 2022 @7am (He called me the day before and asked me to switch to n earlier time and I said yes). I was prescribed antibiotics (and I think an anti-inflam pill) and told to wash with an antibacterial the night before surgery day.

  • I walked around NY with a mask on and flew back home around December 6.

December 10, 2022: Removed wound bandage and was advised to lightly wash where the blood wound slowly come off over the next few days. I sent pictures to Dr. Janjua and asked any question. I was wearing an orange top in the photo.

December 12, 2022: old blood slowly came off but I wanted to show how puffy it was. I put aquaphor on.

December 16, 2022: less bruising, no silcone patch until two week mark I believe

December 20, 2022: looked lumpy and crazy looking but thats normal

December 22, 2022: the stitch turned very pink and you could see the dissolvable stitches web blend into my skin. I felt fine.

December 24, 2022: I was frequently in front of people (school and work) and no one seemed to notice as I used TINTED sunscreen to blend it in during the day and I was still swollen.

December 28, 2022: the stitch at the bottom of my new scar hurt a little. I believe I was told to massage my new scar for ten minutes LIGHTLY.

December 29, 2022: Taken inside with natural light reflecting the new scar. Swelling and light bruising from massage and the scar is a bit red. This is Normal.

JANUARY 2023

January 3, 2023: I got laser with Dr. Waibel. Look, she's not my favorite either but she has knowledge and skill in the laser field. And she performed a very heavy laser on it. And I was also desperate and needed a laser done IMMEDIATELY. She mentioned that she never saw that techique in scar revision before and said it was unique, and to keep her updated. I paid cash for the spot laser, it was somewhere between 300-600 (sorry I forgot). Dr. Janjua said to get rxlaser or something but Waibel used three different lasers on it instead (I believe it was co2core, pico and another one). I didn't complain, I thought the rxlaser Janjua suggested was a weaker laser anyway. After, she iced it and put TINTED sunscreen (it has more spf) on it and sent me on my way.

January 11, 2023: I noticed the top part of my new scar had some sort of denting to it and was getting concerned (after a month it turned out it healed the best out of all the other portions of the new scar). I used silicone patch religiously and used the liquid silicone when I was out in public. Yes, when I smiled it would lump a little. It's okay, it was swollen.

January 18, 2023: I have makeup on. Shown in oppressive lighting. At this point, I was happier than ever. It looked as scarless as I'd ever seen it on my left cheek. I was amazed. But I still had a lot of swelling to recover from.

January 20, 2023: Scar shown under VERY oppressive white light.

January 26, 2023: Under my car light with Tinted Sunscreen. You can see my previous Dr. Mascaro scar beside my new scar. The new scar was not very noticeable, I promise. I felt free.

FEBRUARY 2023

February 4th, 2023: I was smiling. Swollen still and a little lumpy but not too bad.

February 8th, 2023: I was in the car, showing how the natural light reflects on the new scar.

February 17th, 2023: In public with makeup on in front of overhead lights in a classroom. Pimple patch on my chin to give you guidance on which photo it is.

February 18th, 2023: I either got a pimple at the bottom of my new scar or old blood was at the bottom? It hurt a little when I massaged it.

February 20th, 2023: It started to look less swollen and a little "weird" but this is the ugly healing phase. I was second guessing whether it was going to get worse from here during this time.

February 22th, 2023: under oppressive lighting

February 23, 2023: Photos in car before makeup and one with makeup and making "kiss" lips to show the skin stretched.

MARCH 2023

March 6, 2023: smiling. I think some weight gain is occurring during this time so there may be some swelling.

March 11, 2023: winter made my new scar feel stiff.

edit march healing is continued below

@mikeengelbert8 No but let me explain. I actually got laser exactly one month after and I used Dr. waibel but you can use another laser skilled doctor in your area. Dr. Janjua suggested that laser but Dr. Waibel recommanded a stronger heavier laser with specific settings (don't remember the settings, sorry) and I told Dr. Janjua via text about it and I don't think he minded.
