Does subcision make the skin sag 5+ years down the line?

The fibrous tissue that attaches the scar to the skin seems to be part of the body's natural healing process. I'm wondering, does breaking this down cause the skin to change or age differently? Has anybody specifically noticed anything like this?

How does the skin change in the area of subcision 5+ years down the line, both good and bad?

No, no at all. The skin is such a huge organ, subcision deals with only a small part of it. It won't cause drastic changes, except for shallower scars, that is.

Skinnystrong, I'm just wondering if you've had experience with subcision specifically because a DR. actually told me it can thicken the dermis over time when used in conjunction with PRP or fillers. I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing tho.

Yes I have experience with subcision. "Thicken the dermis" may be the phenomenon some describe as the "donut effect"? Where the scar is overcorrected because of the filler? Am I right? If so, it really is a matter of controlling the filler amount, and giving your skin time to recover in between sessions.

And that's also the general rule in any skin treatment - treatment, rest, treatment, rest. Over doing too many things in a short space of time, like within a month, will cause skin issues.
