I had really severe cystic acne as a teenager. I had 3 rounds of roaccutane, my dermatologist at the time was just about to retire and he said it was the worst case of cystic acne he'd ever seen. For years and years I have now suffered with acne scarring, I have tried microdermabrasion and different acids - generally there's been very mild improvement. I have been looking at more surgical treatments because I don't feel like I can go on with my skin like this any more. I came across Dr David Lim who recommends manual revision of scarring, alongside lasers when needed. All of the dermatologists I can find just want to use lasers and most don't mention manual revision or using a combination of treatments. I am really stifling to find anyone. Please, please can you recommend any acne scar specialists in the United Kingdom.

Attached are images of my skin, although I the lighting was very kind and the scars look much worse in daylight and with make up on.

Thank you in advance

@B_A_BrownThank you for posting those pictures, helpful.

We have textural scarring, Box Cars, Rolling, fibrotic attachment - smile lines, hyperpigmentation

Without knowing the exact Chemical Peels, how they were administered and percentages it's hard for me to know if they were successful or not. Some use very light peels and this does nothing for scars like a Deep Chemical Peel would with a plastic suergon. We treat the deepest problems first and as such I would not rely only on peels, ... you need to treat your scars manually first.

Dr Anil in the UK does manual methods of scar treatment, you must request them though because he also has lasers which should be done at the end of treatment. Dr Emil is also good in Denmark.
