messed up my suctioning/cupping for subcision

Hey I am getting subcision this week and I did a trial run of my suction/chinese cupping device and I messed up and got two round marks on me that won't go away that looks like someone kissed me and left a mark.I used the smallest cupsize ~1 inch in diameter and I was told to pump back 2-3 times then wait10-15 sec.apparently that was too much for me. I get "hiccies" easily if that means anything.

Also my suction device did not hold air, meaning I had to keep pressure on the pump with my hand while I waited the 10-15 seconds, is this supposed to happen ? or am I not creating enough suction between my face and the cup? When I try it on my arm, I can easily disconnect the pump and the cup will stay on my arm. Do I have to use oil to create a more air tight seal or something?

I think next time, I mightjust do half or even a third of a pump and do like 5-8 seconds.

Any tips to prevent this will be appreciated.

The cupping device did what it was supposed to do. The whole idea is to bruise the area, the blood (hiccies) is suctioned into the tissue there acts as a filler and PRP.
Did you do it on the scar just before getting subcision?- bad idea, makes the scar less visible probably (pictures), harder for the doctor to do a good treatment.

Round marks are part of cupping. Perhaps your pressure is to high. Yes do it half as much, you don't have to do it to the max.

Redness, hickies, and pooling of blood are part of cupping.

If you have sensitive skin back off on the pressure.

Yes you can use a oil or ha serum and see if you get better suction.

Recap: less pressure, use a serum or oil if you need, more sessions at a shorter period of time is ok. I cannot say about holding the pressure, ... this may be the function of your set. This is just part of cupping, redness and bruising for a month, ... hence why filler is done instead. Buy some medical grade concealer like dermablend.

From experience, I think you have a bad suction device. My first one was from owndoc; I've since thrown it away. The head was too small, the head was made of cheap material, and the pump was terrible. That one left a circular bruise on me and it routinely got stuck when I was suctioning.

10 - 15 seconds - I believe the scientific journal article said 4 seconds. I did ~ 1 - 2 seconds with multiple passes, and I moved mine in slow, constant motion.

To prevent the suction device from getting stuck I never use more than one pump. Also use a bigger head. A good suction device you only need one pump tops; the cheap stuff you'll need multiple pumps. I always suction with dry skin.

Here's my setup, head is about 1.5 inches in diameter. I've tested about 6 different head sizes, and this is what worked best for me.

I actually have the same pump in this picture, I bought thru amazon Accu-zone I believe, but i use the rubber connection between the pump and the cup. I am thinking the skin on my face is to thin to create and hold a suction, I lost some weight so I do have a slimmer face. Also I will try out with the 1.5" cups and see how it goes. I bought the owndoc one just for a backup.

EDIT: Okay I took the rubber connection off and now it's holding air!! I am using it like the picture above. I have to press down quite hard though, either I wasn't pressing down hard enough or the rubber connection is leaking air. Thank you for helping me figure it out!!! I think I still have to work out my technique though, I don't feel comfortable moving it. I am going to make a video for this one when i got it down.

P.S. Thank you for your inspiring posts btw, your thread is gold and I am beginning the same journey you are on when you started.
