Hello guys, finally after a long period of lurking on these forums i decided to muster up some courage and present myself with my acne scars.
I had bad cystic acne in my teens which was successfully treated with accutane when I turned 22.
Years of acne + post acne scarring has left me with pretty low self esteem and self-loathing. I just want to feel confident in my skin
I™ve had microneedling done 2 years ago and juvederm filler last year. The microneedling softened the scars but the results were not that great. Juvederm was a waste of money in my opinion
I consulted a dermatology centre here in Toronto and the esthetician recommended me the Profractional Laser treatment (3-4 sessions)
I™m going to consult with another place to see what they say before going making a decision.
I was wondering if you guys had some tips/advice on what has worked for you or people you know. Would be greatly appreciated.
Hi there, you have lots of textural box cars. Some rolling scars, some discoloration, and perhaps a few icepicks.
Microneedling is meant to be done at home between Dr sessions not to be a treatment alone. There is no ""one"" treatment. Filler without subcision is pointless.

Checkout the main scar treatments sub, find the FAQ pinned on top there, goto the bottom, there are Dr's or call around and ask who does cannula subcision or nokor subcision (needle type) to dermatologists and or plastic surgeons, consult a few before you decide who you like, even if you have to pay as treatment is expensive, better like them. Ask how many subcisions they do a month and if they treat your skin type. If they just do laser run they will just blast you and not solve your issue.

Tca cross! If you want faster results do subcision and a filler also. But I have been having great success with tca cross 100 and tca peel 15-25.
If you decide to do tca cross self application, be very careful. Do your research. Never apply more than one layer .
I use a toothpick for the application. I do my application myself. It took a few times of not knowing how things were going to turn out to really know for sure what I was doing.
If you do it wrong you can make scars worse/ make new scars.
