Hey all. From what I've read you need filler after subcision to prevent scars from retethering. But if what you need to get 2-3 subcisions? Should you do filler after the first one? Or every time? If you do the subcision 2-3 months apart, won't it waste the fillers?
If you don't get fillers, won't it "waste" the subcision because your scars will retether? In Korea they're using CO2 gas to make a pocket and fill it with HA to prevent retethering. http://www.gclinic.net/skincare I'm guessing this isn't a filler but it has its merits. Maybe scar retethering is only an issue for a couple weeks? Even so, can we just get HA acid injection to prevent retethering instead of the suction method? Why don't they have this in the US?
But getting filler every time is also pretty expensive. Do you guys know of a rough estimate of prices for fillers in the Bay Area?
Thank you.
All the above, ... depending on your time and money. You can do it at each session and wait till the filler wears out and do it again or at the end only.
No subcision gives some improvement without filler,
Because it's not legal with the FDA. It won't work on overly tethered scars, and it's for very small pits. Korea is not constrained by the FDA or safety.
I can give you a plan PM me.

Why would you repeat subcision every 2-3 months? It can take up to 6 months for the collagen to reach its maturity (but definitely longer than 3 months). So don't get suckered by doctors who asks you to come in every 8 weeks. On the other hand, if you get a filler like Sculptra, which actually helps build collagen, it can last up to 2 years. With such a filler, you can safely get 3 or 4 subcisions before the filler runs out.
This thread touches on the question I have on another thread @beautifulambition@Sirius Leeas Im still VERY confused about the right approach -
what is more risky ?
1 - do subscision with a small amount of filler as SPACING ( I had a bad reaction to filler in the past - hardened lumps very visible had to be removed - and then top it off later after swelling goes down and dont do the suction
2 - dont do filler until swelling goes down but do cupping ( even though I bruise easily and I guess your risk lumps ) ?
Really need to decide soon.
thoughts ?? Thank you

Because Mr. Matt did and his face looks fantastic. I really think he was onto something with his subcision frequency. Maybe every two months is too much. Not sure.

It's really hard to follow your argument. What exactly are you trying to say?
As far as my own quote is concerned, I was saying you should limit your treatment to oneevery 6 months because it can take that long to regenerate collagen.
Mr. Matt had his first subcisionsevery two months -- March, May and July.
I wish he could speak to his results and why he chose that frequency.
I was merely stating that the frequency may have beentoo close but I don't have experience with subcision so that's for others to answer.
