I was looking at the faq for scars and I think I have rolling scar type. Can someone please confirm and also let me know how bad the scars look I got them when I was 16 and had bad acne? I am now 40 years old with a demanding sales job where I don't get a lot of time off. I know Fraxal lasers can help with smoothing these out but I from what I read, it takes two weeks for the redness to go away. I cant not be infront of customers for that long,  Is there any alternative non surgical treatments with minimal downtime? I can swing four consecutive days off If I need to.

Fraxel will do very little for your rolling scars.

You need subcision with some filler. This is a relatively low down time procedure, if you wear concealer over it sold in any dept store. Please see the FAQ under the skin section for some brands.

You need a few of these.

Other than that I would do a few tca peels when you have down time, but yes you are right (typically sales can sometimes work from home). I would suggest Infini rf or rf microneedling over fraxel for your scar type especially in the temples it will help, you need 3, the epidermis is better protected than laser.

Scars unfortunately take time to treat and heal. But filler and sub is pretty instantaneous.

You have practically IDENTICAL scars to mine near your temple/cheekbone area. On the upper part of your face (temple/cheekbone)see a few very mild rolling, a few boxcars and (maybe) a few icepicks.Dude subcision + filler is your bread and butter here. No lie I bet if you had 3 subcisions + filler those things would be practically unnoticeable. I honestly think from like 1 subcision + filler treatment you'd get like 50% based off of how isolated and shallow they are.

I went to my local derm and they prescribed RECEDO (medical-grade topical silicone) for my scars. I've been doing it for almost a month. I am not sure how effective it is. Any thoughts ont this as an alternative treatment?

Are there any posts on this forum for recommended derms to do the subcision/filler in NY or longisland? There are so many places that do it but I'd rather not go by yelp reviews to pick a DR as there are a lot of people reviewing for botox, general acne etc.

I've read it takes 3-4 days after a subcision to heal, is that true? I can get away with that but if it takes 1-2 weeks that could pose a problem.

I am sure there are tons of Dr's in NYC. The most famous ones are in the FAQ- top of the scar sub as they are mentioned often here. Novick is the most well known. I haven't heard tons of good things about NYC derms but perhaps branch out and find someone through some research. Top Dr's on the east coast are Weiner in Florida and Novick in NYC (he's expensive).

Silicone has to be done 6 months to a year for fresh scars. For the PIE you do vascular laser or / q-switch. If your ethnic Picosure.

Alt treatment, Castor oil and comfrey spot treatment.

IT depends on the person 3 days to 2 weeks of healing, ... some people wear dermablend concealer over the reds areas. Swelling for the first few days. When we say 2 weeks that is a slow healer and there are things you can do to continue your life as I mentioned concealer. It's all about how you heal. Swelling is the worst part, the rest you tell someone you got a sunburn or had a accident during the weekend.

When you say Novick is expensive can you give me a ballpark on what he would charge?

Since these scars are 30+ years old, the Recedo wont do a damn thing for them?

What is the acronym PIE you are referring to?

The Alt treatment you are referring to is to help with ????

No idea, ... I know he seems quite expensive, ... do a search of this forum and there are other posters. I know some people goto Florida or the Dr in Boston because he was charging NYC prices (see the faq). It's like SF there are no remarkable Drs. You can always email him for a quote. He does everything with filler. He charges per scar to subcise.

You can fly to Dr Weiner Florida, and home the say day with treatment cost of subcise for 1/2 off that price

No 30 year old scars, creams won't fix. We need to be more aggressive.

PIE is wounding post acne "reds" they last for a year. If the scars are 30 years old and you had pigment it would be PIE or hyperpigmentation. See the FAQ - skin section and PIE/PIH. Laser is effective for this.

30 year old scars I doubt alt treatment's will help. I was saying castor oil to your scars. You can apply Differin nightly to your scars (target/ walgreen/ wallmart).
