Your scarring is not bad at all, I see a pimple like bump on the upper left cheek. I see PIE or the left overs of acne which are the red spots all over your cheeks. The best treatment for the reds / brown is laser V-beam, IPL, Excel V, 1064nm.
You have shallow rolling scars Several medium strength TCA peels can be done for this. goto a med spa and get them done.
You can try dermastamping over the spots as well but this must be done in conjunction with TCA Peels.
@beautifulambitionwill PIE go away with time on its own, or is vbeam necessary? I have some indented scars that are still red after about 4 months- is that just the color of them, or is it still PIE if its also indented?
@PetsmeYes it "can" ... notice "can" ... For some that's a year or more. It's really how annoying is it to you and will your body heal, some bodies don't cooperate. IF we are constantly doing treatments, picking, using acids and exfoliants, lasers, hard chems... well it will last potentially forever. IF one has a scrape, we don't want to be irritating it, we want to put things that will make it heal triple - anti.... , honey and aloe vera. Some people have rosacea, others have sensitive skin. .... When one is off Accutane, the skin is so thin, veins are to the surface of the areas they complain about or
erythema - superficial capillaries . Others thinned out their skin with procedures or lost fat. So many factors. The answer is if your impatient there are treatments, or one can try to heal naturally.
If they are young 9 times out of 10 it will heal if you ask about how quickly they heal from cuts, etc...
Lastly separate all indented descriptions from PIE. PIE is not scarring. If anything its early wounding. Treatments thus are separate, and often those who have acne scar treatments treat with energy devices at the end to get rid of the reds/ browns/ pigmentation issues.
Check this out, it's at the top of the hypierpigmentation sub here and in the scar FAQ under skin
