I am currently on 10mg Accutane. I was wondering could you use a silicone gel or sheet while taking accutane. There doesn't appear to be any evidence either way. Anyone been on Accutane and still used silicone gel sheets like Scar Away? Thanks.

Honestly I don't know if it would hurt (probably not) but I would wait to do anything to your skin until you're off the Accutane for a while, it does effect the way your skin responds to certain things so just to be on the safe side I would wait. I've personally never taken Accutane, I did use Retin-A for a while and made a real mess of my skin so I'm naturally a bit apprehensive.

Accutane is from the inside out, why would it do anything with silicone. Use Sunscreen, aquaphor, and or moisturizer.

I am actually wanting to use Dermaflage to attempt to fill a big scar that has an indent. I notice that although Dermaflage is a make up product, it does have silicone it seems to fill the gap. Hopefully I can use this while on accutane, because I will be on a longer term low dose regime (At least another 12 months). Thanks for your replies.

It's fine. It's just make up. You would only need to be worried if you do something that creates a wound (laser, dermbrasion, excision, chemical peels.)
