Hello,

As you can see, my problem area is mid face, cheeks only. I tried dermapen, the doc told me I wouldn't have complications, I did. I had hyperpigmentation. A few months later, my scars seem to show more, maybe due to loss of facial fat.

Another derm told me genesis cutera for texture problems as my scars are shallow to moderate. To me, they're pretty deep. He did an awful job with subcision, I see no difference in my scars.

My question is, what would you recommend? PRP? Fillers? Laser? Please keep in mind that I get discoloration easily (like I did after a dermapen session, the brown spot is still there after a year).

Thank you in advance!20170527_220835.jpg20170527_221104.jpg20170527_220905.jpg1.jpg20170527_220747.jpg20170527_220937.jpg

First, let me say I think your scars are very minor and you look great. That said, I understand they are worrisome and bothersome. I am by no means an expert, but I see rolling and boxscars on both sides. You have a couple of small ice picks which may just be enlarged pores on your right. I have a similar mix but slightly more severe and for my mix@beautifulambitiontold me - and I agree - that treatments of subcision or your rolling and boxcar scars, combined with TCA CROSS for your ice picks (which I don't even think need treating), combined with tca peels would serve you well. Maybe microneedling mixed in between there and I bet you will have amazing results. Good luck.

Dear OP,

PRP would help you heal, and is often done with microneedling. If you hyperpigment form microneedling, anything you do will cause you to do this. You doctor should have put you on steriods, regardless you will need to use skin bleach aka hydroquinone and vitamin c serum before and after every treatment, you might also needle ipl or lasers for hypierpigmentation.

You have large pores, many fix this with tca cross, yes they will turn red and you will put makeup over them as they heal. another option is clear and brilliant which is gentle, fraxel is stronger and also used for large pores, but as you hyperpigment, ... expect this.

I would also say you need some tca spot peels on your cheeks if you do not do tca cross, get one that has skin lightening capabilities (goto a doctor or med spa). .

I cannot be certain you will heal perfectly, we all heal differently, it's your doctors responsibility to do aftercare and make sure he knows you heal poorly and hyperpigment before you do anything.

Thank you so much for your responses. I have an appointment with an aesthetician this week for Affirm laser. We'll see if I'm a good candidate for it. If not, I'll see another dermatologist and mention both of your suggestions. :)

Stay away from lasers. Look into Vivace radio frequency micro needling

Oh you've tried the derma pen? I know a lot who used the same but had good results. Yeah maybe to each his own. Best of luck to you dear! :)

You can use doxyva. It could be the best treatment for that. Many of my friends are using this and I'll be using it too soon after I get my order. You can browse it on the internet to be sure on how it works.
