Subcision plus filler experience

Ok, there are lately quite a few topics about subcision with filler, but this is a bit different.

So i went to my derm yesterday. I wanted to have a subcision and filler done by him. I've already had 3 subcisions without filler and i just wanted to try it with filler. See how that goes.

After the derm examined my scars, he said that my scars looked a lot better. That's great, but i must be greater if i'm able to see that (guess it is mostely a mental thing?). Don't get me wrong, i also see an improvement. But if all the scars are still there, shallow or not, you will see them.

So he thought that the subcision was a great idea to do. But, he found my scars to shallow to do a full HA filler. He wanted to do a NCTF filler mixed with PRP. I believe it's called a vampire facelift? So he did the sub and after that the filler with prp. After that a light erbiumlaser treatment which haven't give me a red skin at all.

The next day, slightly swollen, but i can go outside. It looks pretty good with swelling, the question is, how will it look like without the swelling :)

So my doc did:

Glycolic peel for cleaning my face
Sub
Filler plus prp
Light erbiumlaser treatment
Oh and the last one i totally forgot to mention earlier, i found that quite freaky. So he made from my blood the prp right, the bloodplasma was still left from it. So he did the bloodplasma on my face and told me to use it as a mask. I just washed it of. I never heard of that, but since it's from your own blood it can't be bad right?

Total cost of it all was 500 euro. That's like 500 dollar. My doc is located in western Europe.

@Noa27Let us know in a few weeks when the swelling goes down. What is NCTF filler, I have heard of their skin booster products which are non cross linked.

From my understanding the filler is 50% HA and 50 % a fluid with all sorts of vitamins, minerals, etc.

@Noa27its un cross linked mesotherapy aka skin booster, they use these sometimes with micro needle. I had a friend who used it at home. Will be interesting your results.

@Noa27I am in the same boat as you. I got 2 subcisions done without fillers. Most of my scars are shallow now but still clearly visible under tangential lighting. I am actually thinking of getting subcision with Sculptra or Juvederm Voluma. That might help volumize my enitre face and make the scars look less obvious?
@beautifulambition what do you think?

I highly feel you should avoid any filler that causes a granuloma response (creates collagen) for surface / shallow scars. Sculptra is not a filler at all but what they call a bio-stimulator, which causes the body to encapsulate the particles of sculptra. Basically, you can't predict how much volume your body will generate and you could end up with ugly lumps / bumps. I would only have thinner fillers like Belotero or Restylane for surface scars. Sculptra is for deep, deep injections because then you can't see any bumps or irregularities.

@dazzed

If sculptra is injected deep over a course of few treatments by a skilled doctor, what are the chances of getting lumps/ bumps?

@beautifulambition did you injected the scupltra yourself or got it injected from Donna? I assume it requires 2 to 3 sessions?

Btw I am sorry if I digressed from the original topic on mesotherapy.

If you inject Sculptra deeply, then it is not too much of an issue. Sculptra is meant to cause a granuloma-like reaction, which is how it creates fullness or volume. If you inject deep, even if you get bumps, obviously it cannot be seen. I was concerned you wanted to have it injected for "shallow scars". That would definitely give you lumps, which can look pretty ugly. Sculptra is not a "what you see is what you get" filler. It is totally dependent on how strongly your body reacts to it. It's unpredictable in that sense.

Bottom line, if you don't have significant volume / fat loss I would avoid Sculptra. It is not reversible like hyaluronic acid fillers.

BA, I agree with your points. I don't know Keving100's case, so I was just going off based on his question about Sculptra for "shallow scars." And I agree, Sculptra is not for shallow scars. There wasn't much else to go on in his original question.

@Noa27

Any updates on your subcision + mesotherapy treatment?

Yeah, i feel that the scars are somewhat more shallow, but not worth the 500 dollars i guess. Maybe i should give it more time.

From now on i go with the TCA peel +derminator route. Will do that for a while and see where it takes me.

I'm pretty much convinced that you can treat your scars on your own much better than a doctor or derm. Plus it is way cheaper.

That's too bad, I'm sorry. Are you still going to try a traditional hyaluronic acid based filler? As far as I know, these skin boosterlike treatments need at least three sessions. Did you doctor say anything to you about that?

I get what you're saying about treating the scars yourself, I've spent almost 10K on scar treatments, yet I feel I could have reached the same level of improvement by just treating the scars myself. It's a long journey, that's for sure.

Go back to your doctor and get a proper HA filler. PRP requires many sessions to make any difference

At this time i'm not considering to go to a doc to do HA filler. I'm quite fed up with docs at the moment.

No he didn't say that it needed more treatments. When i found that out i felt kinda scammed. So thats why i will now do it on my own for a couple of years and see where it takes me.
