It's fine to wait a day, 2, or a week, the point is not to have it re-tether, don't hurry the process of healing. He wants the best outcome. It's the temple, so shallow and lots of arteries / veins. This way the swelling goes down. This area is delicate, "temples". Subcision is always necessary with scarring and filler to provide pockets to place the filler as kat22 said, "otherwise it will doughnut" or do nothing.

Bellafill in this conversation was originally brought up by the OP as a solution, I was going with the flow and providing info. Many want a permanent solution of Bellafill or Micro Silicone because they think it's cheaper and permanent. They do not know the products side effects, massive amount of treatments needed over 1 or 2 years for the final outcome, expenditure $$$$-$$$$$. We go for haircuts, massages, get botox done, etc but it's often thought of to not try (repeats) how you even like filler, the more natural alternative (HA). Many just need something to keep the skin temporarily from re tethering when they do their subcisions as some collegen grows.

Sure hes fine too if he does the same procedure sub w/filler. He is expensive as hell and pushes Mixto laser often for his special "plan." A month isn't bad. Hell some Dr's you wait 6 months.
