Dermarolling side-effects - Do I have them?

Hello,

I have been dermarolling for year and a half now. Started with a 1.5 mm roller and a 1.5 stamp but changed to 0.75 mm roller and a 2 mm stamp  last summer. I am slightly worried about the side-effects on my skin, though. I don't know how my skin is supposed to look anyway. I am 40 years old male. (My acne history is obvious from the pictures.) The pictures were taken in bad light to show my skin at its worst.

Please go see a dermatologist. You could be scaring your pores. Or have something else that is bacterial. I know sometimes when someone needles to much they get this side effect. I see possible hypopigmentation (white skin areas, unless that was there before), are you susceptible to scarring like hypertrohic scars? Take a break, see if it gets better. Have you tried retin A cream to even things out or TCA peels? Moisturize with a pure HA serum daily. Vitamin C serum helps some people also fight free radicals.

Thank you for the advice.

I had four week breaks with the 1.5 mm and three with the 0.75 mm roller. This should not be too often? I am not susceptible to hypertrohic scarring. I have had TCA for three times, the last time was three years ago.

Please spot treat only on the scar area, not on the surrounding skin. This may help your condition. Use a dermastamp or the derminator from owndoc.com, do not roll. Rolling can cause this. Micro tears. Make sure your needles are not bent or old. Use pure HA serum before and after treatment, nothing else for 24 hrs. Make sure your cleaning your microneedle with hibiclens, I use also use iodine and rubbing Alch 91% as well. Eat lots of protein.

Finally see a derm if symptoms start to get worse. IT could be related to hormones, or another issue.
