Hi, I'm thinking on trying out the TCA cross method for my first time to treat an icepick scar. My plan is to pretreat the scar with a daily application of 4% hydroquione for a week, and then an application of 50% TCA to the scar.

What are you supposed to do right after the skin frosting happens? Are you supposed to apply a neutralizing liquid, or rinse your skin with water, or just ignore it? I keep reading conflicting information at this step.

Why do you need to pretreat with " hydroquione," This might make your skin too sensitive. Some people do nothing after the frosting happens.Others use baking soda and water and splash the spot to stop the reaction or burning. The baking soda water is for your protection in case of error or pain. I would never start out with 50% unless you are experienced or having a doctor do it. You need to do 15% and see how your react on one spot. Then build up as you know how your skin reacts. This is serious stuff, any drips and it will cause scaring, always make sure the toothpic is dabbed on a paper towel.
