Hello,

I hope someone from UK can reply to this topic.
Basically, getting acne scar treatment means getting a loan for me. So I would like to ask if clinics like Skin do the good job? Or should I get it somewhere else? I am currenty living in Leicester and the Skin clinic look the best, however i heard some negative feedback. Anyone can help out? Thank you

i would make the trip to london and visit professor tony chu at hammersmith hospital. cost is 210 for first appointment and i think 110 thereafter. he has helped me enormously in one visit (to the point i might not need more treatment- my scarring was not major/extensive but bothered me a lot).
i dont know what skin clinic charges but probably not too much less. i think professor chu's fees are very, very reasonable given his expertise.
(while i was waiting for my treatment i heard him discussing with one of the nurses how to keep the costs of my treatmentas low as possible. i really think his motivation is doing his absolute best for patients in as affordable a way as possible).

I have been to skin clinic. 25-50 consultation fee with a nurse, more with a doctor. They don't push you into the most expensive treatments just give you advice on what they think you would be best suited for. If BloomingWasp has had great experience with her recommendation though then that sounds like a good idea as I have only started treatment for clogged pores so far, I haven't yet started my dermapen treatment so I can not give an full review.

You may be happy to hear, as I say to everyone in the UK on here - You can get free scar treatment on the NHS. I have had Fraxel Re:pair and currently going through a series of subcision treatments. Most importantly, with these being done at hospitals, you can imagine you will be in the hands of a quailed and experienced plastic surgeon.

PM me if you want more details.

PS - This is only advised for those who can not afford treatment and suffer with depression, I recommended this as you suggested a loan. I do not recommend abusing the NHS system for cosmetic treatments.
